Do I have to wait until I get my official marrigae license in the mail to go to SS to get my new card and DMV? I read this takes a few weeks?

im almost positive you have to wait for the marriage lisence before you can do anything

i believe you need your marriage certificate, not marriage license.

you need the certificate to do both. both take about 10 days to get the new one in the mail. You also need it to change bank accounts and health insurance etc. bank changes your info on the spot and issued cards come 7-10 business days as well
eta: our HM was 2 weeks and when we came home i had my certificate

we just got our marriage license two days ago. so it didnt even take two weeks to get the license. and im pretty sure u need the license to change the name
