bid accepetd last weekend...engineer done...how long till we get the contract???

we made a bid two and a half weeks ago orignially. Then there was counter offers and the holiday and we finally had the accepted offer last Thursday. We are supposed to get the contracts this Thursday, so one week from the accepted offer.

your lawyer should be working with their lawyers. You want to go back and forth on the terms so it is all included in the contract.

It depends, first you have to wait for the sellers lawyer to get the contracts to your lawyer. THen if there are any additions based on your engineers report you have to get those approved and add them. THen you sign, send them back to their lawyer, wait for them to sign and then wait to get them back!
It can take anywhere from 7-10 days to over a month (ours was a month- because their house deal fell through and they needed to find another house before they would sign)
You are not officially in contract until both parties have signed!

Us too--we signed last Thurs, and had made a bid the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. The lawyers corresponded a bit, changed the contracts slightly, and then we signed!
