How long for name change?

How long does it take to change your drivers license and your passport to your new name?

We are taking a cruise in August for the second half of our honeymoon and we are getting married in April. The cruise wants passports that don't expire for 6 months after the trip. My passport expires 1 month after the trip.

So the question is do I book in my maiden name and get a passport renewal now? or Will 3-4 months be enough time to get a passport in my married name (am willing to pay for expidited service) - We want to book - the other half of my honeymoon is booked in Maiden name - but I'm not sure how many months it takes to change your documents

You can't change your name on the passport until you have you have a certified copy of your marriage license. I probably would get on in your maiden name b/c god knows how long it will take to get back..her's the information from the webside I found...
