This weekend was my brothers wedding, they got married at the RH and they saw each other before the ceremony to take pics so they wouldn't miss cocktail hour.- It seemed like their pics took way over 2 hours!
We do not want to miss a minute of our CH. As of right now our church is set for 3 (doing a full mass plus receiving line) and CH is at 6. We are going straight to de Seversky and doing all our pics there. Do you girls think we should move our ceremony to 2:00?

Re: How long for pictures?
My photographer suggested for us to skip our receiving line so we gain some time for pictures. Our ceremony is at 4:30 and our cocktail hour starts at 7. We are going from Massapequa to Stewart Manor on a summer Friday night, so of course there will be traffic. So by skipping the receiving line, were gaining probably at least an extra half hour.
Our photographer had a good point, most of the people that go to the church, are going to be at our wedding reception so we can thank them there.
I think you should be fine with church being the time that it already is.

Re: How long for pictures?
My ceremony is at 2pm and CH is at 5pm. I think 2 hours is loads. I am getting as many family photos taken before the Ceremony so after we just need a few with both of us with our families and then the whole BP together. But all pictures of the girls alone and the guys alone will already be done.
The photographer said we had loads of time too and we don't want to miss the CH.

Re: How long for pictures?
I would consider doing the Receiving line at the RH if at all. .My bro and SIL did their receiving line at the end of the reception as they got in to their car.
That will buy you some time..

Re: How long for pictures?
Talk to your photographer about how much time they want.
Duet told us we only need an hour and fifteen minutes to get our pictures done.

Re: How long for pictures?
We are having the ceremony at the rh. Fh and I will not see each other before the ceremony, and we are do not really care if we make it to the ch or not. We will be taking our pics during the ch, so hopefully an hour is enough time for the pictures.

Re: How long for pictures?
I think it's good at 3pm. U'll have 2 hours to take pics without rushing since u're gonna take the pics in the venue. That was also one of my worries, I was gonna have the ceremony in the venue but that meant taking pics before the ceremony (since the ceremony was right before the CH) and I sooooo did not want to do that, so now we're having the ceremony at a church at 4:30, then we're going to Old Westbury Gardens for pics, and then to our venue for CH at 8:30, we wanna make sure we have plenty of time for pics

Re: How long for pictures?
as all my friends who just got married said even if you plan on going to your CH most of the time you dont get enough time to go. Ive just have a mindset that if I get to CH awesome if not thats fine too.

Re: How long for pictures?
Our church is at 3:30 and our cocktail hr is at 7:30 so we have enough time between for pictures. I did that because I don't want to miss the CH or anything

Re: How long for pictures?
We're doing the ceremony at the RH prior to the CH... we weren't planning on seeing each other prior to the ceremony but after speaking with the photogs we've decided that we should so that we can enjoy our CH. Our ceremony is at 7pm, the CH starts at 7:30pm... our photogs arrive at 2:30 and we have them until the Reception ends at 12:30. We have to figure out someplace to do the pictures. We checked out that little park by the Riviera and aren't thrilled with it. We have some more hunting to do!
