i dont think there is a time limit!! do whats good for you both! For us, we were engaged October 22, 2003, and we're getting married November 12, 2004. I wouldve planned it for 8 or 9 months, but none of the dates that we wanted earlier were available.jenn

I feel a 2 year engagement gives you time to plan and save...that's what I am doing...I got engaged in July and I am not getting married until June 2006...it gives you time to gather ideas and have a less stressful planning period...Of course you will receive comments, oh, that's so far away.....blah, blah, blah, but just pay them no mind and brush it off, cuz it's your day and your going to do it your way, no matter what....

Thanks ladies.Okay, so FI told me that as soon as we have the money we will book a place and maybe not have to wait until 2006.
He is supposed to get his cut of the sale of a family home soon (his dad's former house). Not sure when that will happen or how much it will be though.
