I was just curious as to how long your commute is everyday? I've always been spoiled and lived close to where I worked/student taught, but next year I might not be so lucky, so I was wondering.

For the last two years I had been living on LI and working in NJ - 2.5 hours driving (on average) each way .
Now I'm working in NYC, and with train + subways + walking, it about 2 hours door to door each way.
Things are looking up! At least I can sleep on the train!

yikes, okay, i need to stop whining about my possible 45min - hour commute next year

WOW!!! That is brutal....now I don't think my 1:30 is so bad.
I commute from Suffolk to uptown Manhattan (in the 100's) every day.

Last job - 8 minutes if I get all green lights! 15 minutes standard.
Right now - 5 minutes :)
Once FH and I move out east (as we are planning) - about 45 minutes! EEK! Now that is gonna be a reality check! (I'm a horrible driver so I always look for jobs near home, but I'm gonna have to suck it up if FH and I want to find a more affordable place to live)

For 3 years I commuted to NYC, about 1.5 hours each way. Then last year I changed jobs and had a 20 minute commute for about 6 weeks, then I got married and moved so now its about 50 minutes each way!

It's about 1:15 now each way and will increase some days as I am going to be going back and forth between midtown and downtown...ughh!

About 20 minutes...it used to be an hour and a half each way. Thankfully, those days are over!
