Venues did you see till you picked 'the one'? Also how long will your engagment be?

I would've only looked at one but FH wanted to look at another to compare. We ended up choosing East Wind.
We will be engaged 1 year and 2 months.

I knew my place was the one for years. We went looking for my sister, I fell in love. Just to compare we went to one other one when we got engaged.
I will be engaged a little under 2 years once i get married.

I put a hold on a date tonight and just think 9 months is too short of an engagment...there is just so much to do and need to save a lot of money in those months and getting so stressed over that

We looked at 6 RHs. Our engagement will be 19 months. Initally, I thought it was too long, but we are paying for it all ourselves so the extra time to save and DIY has been a blessing.

What place?
They don't have November which I wanted so I asked for March pricing. It jumped down $10 per person which I was so happy about. But, the more and more my Fiance and I think about it.. it may be too soon to swing it! I put a hold at The Inn @ New Hyde Park. They have 2 dates in Dec left but I just feel like that is such a long engagment then ughhh why can't anything be easy!!

We looked at 9 or 10 before we picked our venue. We'll be engaged 20 months when we get married. We initially wanted shorter but my brothers wedding is in nov 12' so we would've had to of done a yr from our engagement. We knew we wouldn't have been able to swing It money wise so we chose to do our wedding after theirs.

@ Noelle, do what you can afford. A wedding is much more than just the RH. Every thing adds up and makes you want to rob a bank or win the lotto.
My sister got married at the inn and it was fantastic!!!!
Maybe cut your guest list to get married in March?? Or try to book cheaper vendors.

We looked at two and we have almost a 2 year engagement! So if you think financially December would be easier I would do that bc I'm stressing so much I couldn't imagine only having 9 months to plan lol just my opinion!

My venue was the first I went to, but we had appointments at 4 other places that we went to just to be sure. Our engagement will be a year and 9 months.
Planning a wedding in 9 months is def possible, but you might end up settling for vendors that weren't your first choice due to availability. If money is an issue then having a longer engagement is definitely an advantage.

We looked at 9 places (would've been 10 but the last place never showed up for the apt.) But Thatched was the 2nd place and I couldn't get it out of my head. FH wanted to still look around just to be sure.
We will be engaged for 23 months before getting married.

That's another thing - the engagement does go by pretty quickly. I was pretty bummed about having a year 1/2 engagement. Now I have less than 9 months and I can't believe it.

I looked at 10 venues. I loved my venue from the moment I saw the pictures online. When I went to see it I was hoping that I still felt the same way. And I did.
I will be engaged for 1 year and 7 months.

I had 33 on my list, but stopped after 3 bc I fell in love with Sand Castle. When we get married we will have been engaged for 27 months

I have been thinking about this all night and I called my fiance at 7am lol and said that I think it would be best if we did change it to Dec that way we can save more $ and not stress out!! He told me that he agrees 100%. I know it will go by fast and the more and more I am thinking about it I feel so much better changing it to Dec. Plus, it will be decorated for Christmas so nice! I am going to look at a few more places this week but I really feel The Inn is the place for us! I fell in love with it even more the 2nd time I saw it.
