I met my cutie on match.com!!! What a lucky girl I am :) The funny thing is, after being online for a few months I was talking to just 1 guy (whos in the firemans calendar and still single BTW). I had a date planned with him when he got home from his vacation. During that time I met my FH online. Turns out the guy I had made a date with was one of his best friends in the same firehouse and none of us even knew it until later!! Wierd!

I also meet my FH on match.com. What I think is funnyis that we meet down here in DC but we both grew up in Brooklyn. We crossed paths many times without even knowing it. Funny, huh LOL!

We met on on Love@AOL (when it was free). He was living in Ronkonkoma and I was living in Merrick at the time. Turned out we grew up in the same town, graduated from the same H.S. and I played softball with his sister! Talk about a small world!

We met on Match.com. My friend was on it and tried to convince me. I finally signed up and thought it was fun, but met a lot of drips. Then I went to Australia for a month and was going to give it up. He send me a 'wink' when I got home and he was a former NY/NJ guy so I had to meet him. Especially after he told me he volunteered for Catholic Big Brothers and was envious of my job as a school counselor

The funny part is he really doesn't look like himself in pics since he has a really broad chin. I thought he was fat He ended up being really hot and had the nicest body. Our first date was over 9 hours. The rest is history....

Sorry so long, but I love this story. We ran into a friend of mine randomly as we left his houseat the end of our first date. I introduced my FH as my future husband...j/k. He didn't even freak out, just laughed. I still can't believe I did that...

What a great thread!

I met my boy on Match.com. I had just broken up with my boyfirend of 1.5 years. It was pretty disasterous and it really left me feeling really bad about myself. So to try to get out a tiny bit and maybe feel better about myself I decided to do Match.com. Well I was pretty particular but my first date was on a Sat night and second a mon...My first is still a good friend and well my second is my FH! That was one week shy of 2 years ago!

Did you all get exactly what you asked for?? LOL I put in eye color, hair color, age, never married, no children, big muscles LOL, etc....

He never showed up in my serch all b/c he was 1 inch shorter than what my minumum was LOL I typed in word search fireman and he popped up. I cant believe I almost missed him because of an inch!! BTW - He exceeded my expectations in every other way!! LOL

I also met my FH on Love@Aol. I had an ad on there, he didn't. He emailed me and just said Hi. I didn't think anything of it and wrote him back, hello. The next thing I knew he popped online and we started talking and we met a few days later. It turns out he used to be a volunteer EMS dispatcher at a location I frequented because one of my friends worked there, but we never crossed paths. After many talks, there were many times we could have crossed paths but it never happened.

I met my DH through JDate. I was looking for someone of my same faith (Jewish) as he was. We went on a few bad dates and were about to give up until we met each other.

He contacted me and he looked cute and seemed nice so I gave him a chance.

These stories are so cute. I didnt meet my guy on one of those, I would have never had the guts to, but its great to hear how it turned out for all of you.

I met my FH on eharmony.com. We were both pretty skeptical about it. Actually, he had pretty much given up, his membership was expiring a week after we were 'matched,' and he was not going to renew it. We talked online for about 2 months and then finally met in person. Our first date was at the Musuem of Natural history, and the rest is history. We both knew we were in love with each other from that first date. Ahhhh ... love

Quite honestly, we didn't fit ANY of the 'search criteria' we'd listed for the opposite sex..

The very fact that I turned up as one of his 'top 10 matches' when he did a search was a TOTAL fluke. He wanted someone who lived within 10 miles (we lived 60 miles apart ) .. someone much shorter than I was .. someone who was a Mets fan (I'm a diehard Yankee fan) And someone his age or younger (and I'm 4 years older!)

He also didn't fit my 'height or age' criteria (I wanted someone REALLY tall and my age or older) .. but when we saw one another's pics and started emailing back/forth .. it truly was meant to be

I met my Fh in a werid way. My best friend at the time went into an aol chatroom called love. She was going to find herself a boyfriendand she talked to joe which is my FH now. She didnt really like him and she said i have a friend for you named jen (which is me) and we started to to talk on aol. He told me he dont chat in the chat room but just reads other peoples convos becasuse there funny. I always go into that chatroom to talk and read convos to which was werid when i told him that becasue he said yeah i know i remember your screenname. So we talked on the computer and on the phone for about a week. Then we met. He just moved to LI and didnt know the area so it took him literally 5 hours to get to me which would of took a half hour. He didnt give up and when i met him it was love at first sight he actuly brought me a vermont teddy bear that was like over 100.00 and he didnt even know if it was going to work or not. all else is history and now were getting married in november.

We met on YahooPersonals...I had been on match.com and another one for a while...with no sucess. The guys that I met were ALL JERKS! I was about to give up and then my FI e-mailed me. I e-mailed him back a few days after and we started chatting more and more. He was a teacher and I was doing my Masters in Education. We had a lot in common. We finally went out and had an awesome time.. I think I pretty much knew this was it (he was the ONE) when he called me the next day after our date!


We just clicked so well and now we are getting married! He is my dream come true. He is everything that I could have ever hoped for!!

We technically met online. Back when I was in 11th grade and AOL was the newest yet 'coolest' thing, I was in a long island chat room and started talking to this guy because he was a football player for a rival school (i was a cheerleader). We talked for a while online.

I then got a job at Chuck E Cheese (don't laugh) where I met this girl who I became best friends with.

She was from the same town as him, I asked her is she knew him and she said 'He lives around the block from me.'

Turns out they were in some of the same classes and knew each other. She eventually introduced me.

We became best of friends for 6 years...had some ups and downs..he liked me..I Liked others...after some crappy relationships......we got together!!!!!

Who says things don't happen for a reason???

I met my FH on JDate. I was looking for someone who is Jewish and had been a member of this service before. Having heard so many success stories, I figured I'd give it another shot. A week or two after I had signed up, I saw that I was matched with this guy who had a very nice smile. After having read his profile, I noticed that we both were fans of the same college basketball team. I sent him an instant message and the online conversation began. It turns out we had both started the same college at the same time, lived in the same dorm, and went to the same bars back in 1988. I jokingly said 'Wouldn't it be funny if we had 'hooked up' After a few minutes, he asked me if I had my freshman 'face book' - the book that lists all new freshmen. I keep everything so I found it and he had me look his picture up by page number to see if I could match the picture in the book to the picture on the screen. After scanning the page, I found the picture, put my hand over my mouth and said 'HOLY SH**!!! I KNOW YOU!!!' Rewind 15 1/2 years ago and you'd find me and my FH at a fraternity party, drunk as skunks only to return back to our same dorm for an indiscretion (don't worry, it didnt get THAT far). When I realized who he was, and filled him in as to who I was, we immediately had to satisfy our curiosities and got on the phone to set a date. We both remembered each other. Neither one of us had recognized each other by the pictures because we both changed our looks. I had lost weight and cut my hair. He grew a few more inches and no longer wore glasses. It is a great story that everyone loves. Now we are planning our lives together.

I met mine on BlackPlanet.com. The funny thing is I had passed him up several times when he came up as a match, and then one day I sent out 10 questions to 10 of my matches. My FH was the 1st to respond and his answers to my questions blew me away, it was as if he knew me his whole life!!
