how many brides r ages 18-25 even if your not ur welcome here

im a young bride that has 2 pay 4 eveything myself well mostly everything and i was wondering how many of us is out there and how 2 keep the cost down

dont laugh 18 and fh 21 we have been together since i was 12 crazy right so it will be 6 years dec.13

I am 25 actually. I wouldn't be able to pay for the wedding on my own, if it wasn't for my FMIL offering to pay for most of it. Here is how I kept costs down though.

You can definitely keep costs down by going with candle centerpieces. Flowers are ridiculously expensive and if you have 18 tables, and it's $80 a centerpiece or more, that can just turn out to be alot of money. My centerpieces are made up of a huge glass vase that I got at IKEA for $7. I then bought little votice holders that came in a pack of 6 I think, for like $3. IKEA has some cool stuff, you should check them out. Altogether, I think my CP's for each table are about $20 dollars give or take a few bucks. We are also adding a glow stick to illuminate this crystal like gel that will be in the vases.
You can definitely get away with favors and CP's for cheap.

I didn't waste money on invitations. I hate the idea of spending 100's of dollars on a piece of paper that people will just throw away anyway. It's nice to look at for 5 minutes, but then what are they going to do with it after that??? So I purchased a bunch of invitations from Michaels when they had them on sale. They don't really go with my 'Theme' but they are ivory, like my colors and they have a little Precious Moments bride and groom on the front.

You can do alot on a small budget. If you really put time into it, it can look really pretty. :)

I'm 23 and were also paying for everything on our own. We both want to have a really nice wedding but have a tight budget. The best ways to cut costs is booking off season on a fri or sun possibly in the afternoon. You'll get the cheapest prices that way. If you plan ahead and do a lot of research you can definitely cut costs. If you make invitations, centerpieces and favors yourself, you can save so much. If you know someone crafty, ask for some help. My brother's a graphic designer and he's going to make my invitations, menus, programs, etc.

There are many ways to keep costs down.

Off peak wedding months, day weddings, Wed or Thurs night weddings

Keep guests list small...everything you do for the wedding is determined by the # of guests.

Make your own invites

Non-floral cp's

Small bridal party

DJ instead of band

No cocktail hour music

Ceremony at hall = no limos or pick up/drop off

No extras - slipper baskets, cry packs, petal cones, bathroom baskets, menus, programs etc

You can also go to a hall that has all inclusive deals - flowers, music. limos included in price

congrats! our 6 year dating anniv just passed, it was sept 1st

A major way to keep costs down is to get married off-season (the winter months often have the best deals) or on a day other than Sat night. For example, we had a Sunday afternoon wedding.

Those two will affect the prices of all of your other vendors, as well as your ability to negotiate.

Make a list of what is most important to you and be flexible on the others.

Ohh and I forgot...go to all of the bridal shows you can! They give away honeymoons, limo packages, hair/makeup for the day of and stuff like that! Hopefully you'll win!
