how many bridesmaids/ groomsmen are too many? Me and FH cant narrow down the list. Also, we're getting married in 2010- when should we announce who will be part of the bridal party?

I have 2 MOH's and 6 BM's.
I asked my girls almost immediately after getting engaged. I can't keep secrets
FH asked his GM's at our e-party. It was the day after v-day and almost 2 months after we got engaged.
ETA: FH has 1 BM and 4 GM's.

FH is having 1 Best man and 5 GM and i jr GM

It really depends on you guys and what you want- but you decide how many people you want-
people think i'm crazy cause i want all my nieces and newphews in the BP- so thats 6 kids plus FH's 1 niece so thats a total of 7 kids!!

I am having 1 MOH and 3 BM. FH is having 1BM and 4 GM. I asked right away, but I would wait if I were you.. I originally had 4BM and 1 MOH and then my MOH and I had a huge falling out and she is no longer a part of my BP. My SIL is my MOH now and I couldnt be happier. I would try to wait til it is a lil closer to the wedding so you dont encounter problems like I had. I know it is hard to wait though....

I have 9 BM's & 1 JBM 7 GM & 2 JGM 2FG's and a RB
It's a lot I know but half of my BMs are his sisters and everyone else i just couldn't imagine not having by my side

I have 1 MOH + 3 BM... FH has 4 GM. Everyone in our wedding are very close friends and family so we asked right away. Also b/c our weding was less than a year from our engagement so we are limited on time.
I feel if you know for sure who's going to be in your wedding why wait? Just ask them, then you have more people to help you and share the experience of the wedding planning! That's what the wedding party is suppossed to do!

honestly its up to you who you want in your BP. FH and I decided to just include family members in order to avoid any drama w/ friends. we are having:
1 MOH 2 Best Men 2 BM's 2 GM's 2 Jr BM's 2 Gr GM's
no FG or RB.

i'm having 1 MOH 1 Best Man 6 or 7 BM 6 GM 1 Jr. GM 1 flower girl 1 RB
I wanted to ask people immediately but i decided to wait lol. Just in case things change cuz u never know. I think i'm going to ask more towards the summer when i might have my e-party.
I am going to ask 2 girls though who i know would like to know ahead of time so they have more time to save for their dresses.

I would really wait a while to ask your bridesmaids. I asked mine right away and it was a really big mistake.
I would say wait as long as possible, so you can know who is truly there for you.
If you ask someone to be your bridesmaid and then you loose touch with thst person or they do not even care about your wedding thst much - it's hard to un-ask someone out of your wedding.
Trust me, I'm there right now.

I would announce it around November of 2009 because you never know who you will stop talking to or just get disillusioned with.

We have 7 BMs and 6 GMs. I agree with the other girls- definatly wait, just in case (of course you can ask family!)

I've been in weddings that have 8 on each side and even 12 on each side.....12 was def alot
