I just got back from my second fitting and they had made the bustle (without me being in the dress!!!! ) with only three buttons.
We ended up changing it to six ... so just curious about everyone else,

I have not had any of my fittings yet but I would think that the number of buttons would depend on the length of train and styling of the dress/hem. right?

I didn't do mine yet but I have pictures of how I want it that I stole from one of my dress twins on the knot. Look in my LIW photo album if you want to see. I think I see 9?

My mom just did a bustle on a gown last week that had 14 buttons on it the train wasnt that long but it was just that it was sooooooooooo heavy that if it was done with anyless the buttons would be pulling...There was a lot of beading and a thick heavy lace all over it. I really think that is kinda rare I think it is normally more like 6-8..

Mine has three buttons. We did a 'test run' and everything seemed fine... don't worry!

When they first did mine it was 3, but we changed to 5, which was fine.

Mine is tied with strings... that way there is no chance the buttons will pop off

I'm starting to think I'm even m ore annoyed they didn't discuss this option with me!!
I'll see how it all ends up next week when I go again.

I have 3 buttons...it felt secure! But, I asked for extra buttons in case of an emergency on the day of!

Oh wait, ties I think are usually for a french bustle that goes under...the buttons are usually for the ones that connect at the waist...I think!

When I went for my first fitting, they did 7 bustle points. After I left there, I wasn't too happy about the 7. So when I went for my second fitting, I had them change it to 3! It looks 10000000000 times better! It just didn't lay right with the 7, it looked messy.
So......3 for me

Right but they didn't even discuss bustle options with me!!!
Maybe call and ask them not to add the buttons just yet. Tell them you want to discuss the different bustle options.
Here are the two options I got..first is the french the second is the one I got with 3 buttons.
