We signed up for 5 and just completed 3 and I was just wondering if that was enough... Did anyone sign up for more? Also, did you get your whole wedding song choreagraphed (sp) or did you simply learn the moves and let your DH lead you on the day? I don't know how either would look!

marisa - where are you guys taking dancing lessons??
we had 7 private...and we had our routine down in much less...but then we started learning other dances like swing that helps us when we are at a wedding...
DH really loves to dance since these lessons (even though hes not that good!)

um, none. We just got up and danced, probably not that well, but we had fun. We didn't want our first dance to be work !

We took 4 privates and 3 group. Well worth the money. Our first dance was choreographed and people raved about it.

We're taking 6. I don't think you even need that many, but you have to practice in between.

we are taking them at Swing Street in Farmingdale....we learned how to swing dance there for a friend's weding 4 years ago & they were great... we are taking 8 (that is how they come packaged) and it is a generall ballroom class, so we learn basic waltz, fox trot & merengue steps.

None. I wanted to take them and FH actually agreed at first, but then he chickened out when I suggested we go sign up. My mom even offered to pay for it. I can dance ok. I was in dancing school for 10 years when I was younger. But him, forget it. He is lousy. I have to work on him before the wedding so we don't look too silly.

I think we ended up taking 7-10 private lessons (that's counting some introductory freebie classes) and in addition to that we also were taking group lesson to learn all the ballroom dances as well as salsa and swing (my husband got really into learning the dances - so that why we were learning everything). Our whole dance was choreographed and we ended doing some pretty intricate steps. I guess it depends on how comfortable you and your FH are with your dance whether you want a full choreagraphed routine or just learn some steps and wing it. We definitely practiced a lot to get our dance down - but it was fun.

We took 11 lessons and our dance was choreographed down to each detail... I think we did ok, but still have not seen the video. The guests liked the dance though.
I think for us 11 lessons was barely enough, we had some leading/following issues

We did a 4 lesson introduction package and then signed for a 10-10-10 (10 private, 10 group-10 practice) We're having fun and I just want to go on the record of saying 'It was all FH's idea!' He loved it. He dances around afterwards and has grabbed me to dance at the last two parties we went to
