I want to fill out my vacation request form for the wedding (yikes!) I know we are going to take 2 weeks for the honeymoon, but how much time should I take off BEFORE the wedding? I feel guilty taking off too much time in a row but I am trying to be sensible.

I only worked two days the week of my wedding. We got married on Sunday and I only worked Monday and Tuesday of that week. We also did 14 days for our HM, but luckily the last part of our HM fell during Thanksgiving Week. in total I took 11 days off (again, we had thurs and fri already off for Thanksgiving)

i can see you taking off friday take care of stuff. Your hall will most likely want all there stuff by tues/wed for a saturday wedding.
depending on how long your honeymoon is, coming back on a saturday, you have sunday to have another relaxing day, then back to work on Monday.
i think it also maters how much time you get.

My wedding was a Friday - I took from Wednesday - so really only two days before the wedding (the RD was Wed. night). Honestly, everything was pretty much done so I found it to be plenty of time.
In total, I was out of work for 13 business days.

my wedding is on a saturday ill probably ask off the thursday and friday before, plus my honeymoon which is 10-14 days, if i come back from my honeymoon in the middle of the week like wednesday ill ask for that thursday and friday off too...

I've been thinking about this too recently (we can carry up to 10 unused vacation days over until the next year and I've been wanting to take off).
I'm thinking of taking the Weds and Fri off before the wedding (we have to meet with the hall that Weds) and then the two weeks after, even if we're not gone for the whole time. I think the Fri before the wedding is given to me as a wedding gift from my company.

Our wedding was on a Saturday and I worked Monday and Tuesday prior. I took the rest of the week, plus one week for our honeymoon and 2 days after that, I went back to work on a Wednesday.

I got married on a saturday and left work at 12pm on the wednesday before- that way I didn't have to take a full day
I wond up taking 11 days off b/c we were closed 2 days for x-mas

I'm a little torn between wanting to take off to get things done and thinking maybe I should work as late as possible so I'm not at home with nothing to do besides freak out.

My wedding is on Saturday. I am working a 1/2 day on the Thursday before & off on the Friday. Then I will be off 2 full weeks after that. I am taking a total of 13 1/2 days off from work.
