How Many Disagreements Can You Have In ONE Day
FH & I are off from work this week, so we are finishing up wedding stuff. Today is only Tuesday and thus far we have argued over:
1. Video
We finally decided we want it. I booked appointments. We went to see two thus far, and have another appointment on Thursday. I want to book the first video guy we saw. (LIW vendor, well liked on the boards) Price is right, includes two video guys, liked the video guy himself, and liked the way he puts video together. Also includes 'getting ready' coverage of both bride AND groom in video.
FH wants to book video with our photographer. Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE our photographer, but I wasn't all that impressed with video editing as compared to vendor #1. It is certainly nice, and will do the job, but I liked the extra 3 hours of coverage with the other vendor. Our photographer also right off the bat knocked down the price, but it went right back up to add second camera, bringing him back above vendor #1 - with video coverage to begin as bridal party arrives at ceremony - no getting ready footage. I could probably negotiate to get all that is included, but . . . . . .
Argument #2:
Invitations: FH fell in love with an invite today. I really want white not ecru, but it is beautiful and elegant, so I can deal. However, it is over our budget, which leads us straight into argument #3
Who to invite:
I don't want kids, I don't want '& guest' when the guest is someone neither one of us has ever met, and that in all likelihood the actual named invited guest hooked up with right before the RSVP date, just so they didn't come alone. FH thinks it is wrong, and disrespectful not to include ALL kids, and to invite single people as just that - single people. I don't think an infant, or a 5 year old belongs at an affair that will run until midnight. FH said it is up to the parents themselves to make that determination, not for us to police them, or make parenting decisions. This deteriorated into an all out shouting match. I told him to go ahead and invite his friends and family as he sees fit, and I'll invite mine as I see fit. Does this work??? Heck no!! Why you ask? Because, FH says the invite is coming from both of us, and the no kids, no guest thing from my side is a reflection on him, and he doesn't agree with it!!
All of this of course occured TODAY, after last night's argument over him playing GOLF the day of the wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ummmm, excuse me, GOLF????? the day of the wedding??? with the groomsman who didn't pick up the flowers for his own wedding because those knuckleheads were on the freakin' golf course the day of his wedding???? And he thinks I just need to chill out and relax!!
Someone please tell me I'm not being unreasonable here, or if you think I'm being unreasonable, please explain in a sane manner why - before I kill him.
