How many dress stores did you go to?

How many dress stores did you go to?

Yesterday was the first time I went shopping for my wedding gown. I loved one of the dresses I tried on, Demetrios 1341, and my mom also loved it. I'm just curious if I should stop now, or if it would be a good idea to go to one more place to try on different dresses.

What do you think? How many did you go to?

I wouldn't stop now -- you have plenty of time. I also went with Demetrios and it's only a 4 month wait.

I went to maybe 4 salons

I went to about 4-5. You might want to shop around, just to make sure that you dont find anything you like better and then regret your decision. Also make sure that the dress isnt being discontinued anytime soon, so that its definitely available if you do decide to get it.

my dress was the second dress i tried on at the second dress store (although i don't really count the first, it was such a bad experience )

I think I went to 8-9 other places and tried on zillions of other dresses, including going back to try on 'my dress' 2 more times before making the final decision.

I've seen dresses I love on LIW that I never saw in the bridal shops, but I'm pretty confident that my dress is 'the one'

look as much as you need to in order to be sure.

ahhhhh thats my dress!!!!

but on another note... i found it at the 2nd store i went to, but went to about another 4 stores after it and kept comparing that gown to all the other dresses i tried on after

3 stores within 2 days... I found my dress in the first store, first day, try on number 4?, I didn't realize it was ;'the one' until I went to the other s and compared.

go for the one you love, you'll only keep comparing it.

I went to 5-8 I cant remember cause I went back to the same ones a few times but, I tried on alot of dresses and still went back to the sameone.

I went to about 10 stores in a period of 6 months. I knew I had plenty of time so I didn't rush my decision. Plus dress shopping has been my favorite part of wedding planning so far and I didn't want it to end.

my dress was the last dress i tried on (after like 60) the first day dress shopping - i cried - i just knew it was my dress... i shopped the $$ around and got it for so much cheaper than the bridal salon that i found it in...

I went to 4 salons and tried on about 25 dresses in total before finding my gown

I went to 5 stores, but went to 3 out of the 5 stores more than once. I tried on a lot of dresses and was getting really frustrated until my last trip to Kleinfeld on Tuesday! Buying the dress on Tuesday. You really know when you find it!

i wen t to 3 stores found my dress the first time I tried gowns on but continued to shop around just in case I am going tuesday to order it but I am still going 2 more times to make sure this is THE dress. good luck dress shopping is sooooo fun!!!!!

Unfortunately I only went to one. Iwish I went to more. I would never get a different dress but the salon I went to has given me nothing but headaches since day one. My dress came in 3 weeks ago (not that anyone notified me until I called them) so I can't wait to get it out of that store next week!

I went to about 5 stores and went through about 50 dresses.

I just hated everything ... so it was a relief to finally found something I didn't hate.

But I don't know, if I found something I love on the first try, I would probably still just sit on it and wait a little... it takes max 6 months to come in pluse I would leave max of 2 months for alterations.

Just figure you need 8 months before the date to purchase the dress. Its not going anywhere, in fact its popular enough I think you may be able to find it very cheep from a past bride.

I too thought I found my dress after looking at 1-2 stores.. i decided to keep looking, knowing that the dress would still be there. Anyway, I went to 2 more stores, and found one I loved even more!

My suggestion is, if you found a dress, and know what style you like,keep trying on that style/cut but with different details.

I bet you find something you may like even more.
The dress i chose was very very similar to the one I had my eye on... but it had more detail to it, which was what I was looking for....
