My FH and I are talking about how many favors to buy and we are confused.
Does everyone invited to the wedding get a favor or do you only buy as many favors as there are for invitations? For example, if I invite my aunt and uncle and their three kids - is that 5 favors or 1? Thank you!!!!

I am going with how many invites I send. Your uncle situation for me would be 1 favor, not 5. Why does each kid need a picture frame for example. 1 per couple too.

willow, Usually there is one favor per gift/invite. A family of five gives one gft they get one favor. Usually its the amount of invites. Remember to bring a few extra to the reception b/c some people may bring a gift from someone that could't make it...they should get a favor also. Hope this helps

If this is the case, then you would need to put placecards at the table for each seat? Otherwise, how do you ensure one family/couple receives a favor?

I agree that it depends on what the favor is. We were originaly going to make our own CDs and it would have been 1 per couple/family. But since that didn't work out and we put truffles in bags, we did one per person (3 chocolates each).

I am giving out maple syrup in maple leaf shaped bottles and giving one per guest. I guess it depends on how much your favors cost and your budget.

we are giving cds as our favor and we are giving one per family or one per couple.
We are giving small pillar candles and a holder...one per guest...b/c I felt that it would be nice if they had a pair...
but many people do one favor/one couple...but I might consider giving the kids something for themselves...

i am having approx 200 people and we bought 110 favors (in case)-thats one per invitewe bought mikasa crystal sunflower bowls thats holds a candle or can be used as a candy dish or four putpouri or whatever. i spent $625 but i loved them

I agree - it completely depends on what the favor is. If you are giving out candy bars for example, then it would be nice to give one per person.
Im giving out Christmas ornaments so one per couple is more than enough, Im sure.
I think 100 people are coming so I ordered 75 favors to be on the safe side.

I would give one favor per couple/family. Better to have more than be short.
