I want to use the favor below, plus the (west indian) black cake in the cake boxes...but my mother doesn't think it's enough. What's enough or too much?
I already have the cookie cutters, so that's a done deal...but if I have to add something I was thinking personalized pens with our names and wed date...or am I good with just the cookie cutters and cake??
See...thank you!! I thought it was simple and sweet!! But my mom is driving me nuts about it. It would cut my budget down so much, since the cutters were given to me as a gift from my cousin since she worked at Michael's (she cleaned them out!!)

MJ - i think the two is enough. Maybe 3 if you want that little extra. Anymore will go in the 'china closet' JMHO

my mom is doing the same thing. I wanted to have custom made sugar cookies (either in the weding cake design, or a daisy) and she wants to add more stuff, like a bottle of wine, and some other such ridiculousness :)

I haven't had the favor talk yet with my parents, but I was only planning to do the black cake. I figured if its wrapped in a box with a nice bow then hopefully it will be okay. I really can't spend too much on favors and I didn't want to get anything cheesy.
I think your favors are cool. However, was your mom planning to pay for the extra favors? If not, maybe you can sit her down and show her your budget?

oh, believe me we're about to have the budget talk this weekend as a matter of fact. Favors were on me...dresses, flowers, her guests, and who knows what else later she's handling. So look forward to my vent on monday.
