How many florists?

How many florists?

How many florists did all of you check out before making a decision? I have a list of 5 and my mom says I'm insane. Just wondering what everyone else did. On my list are:

Burton's
Hidden Essence
Distinctive
Wick's
Colonial

Burton's and Hidden Essence are a HIKE for me, coming from Queens, but they have such great reviews on here that I feel I should meet with them.

ETA: If anyone could FM me their quotes I would be forever grateful

FH and I met with Burtons yesterday. We will be checking out two more places before we make our final decision.

I check out three places:

I met with Burtons, who gave me a great quote, but didn't make me excited about the flowers. The quote was just for a basic low centerpiece, because I wasn't sure what I wanted.

Then, I met with Michelle from Hidden Essence, who quoted almost the same amount as Burtons, but got me really excited about her ideas and the flowers and options she was offering me. I was so excited about the flowers when I left my meeting with her!

Finally, I called Colonial for a quote. My MIL insisted that I should check them out, because all her friends' kids have used them for their weddings. I didn't want spend the time having another full appointment, so I just called and asked Colonial to quote me the exact same type of arrangement as I had discussed with Hidden Essence. Their price was double Michelle's price. It definitely made for an easy decision!

Hidden Essence was amazing through the entire process! My flowers were beautiful, and Michelle was great to work with. I never regretted my decision. I can't recommend Michelle enough :)

go with distinctive! I'm in Floral Park so they are a short drive for you- and they included alot of extras in their price (like an extra bouquet for the toss, flowers for the cake, flower petals on all of the tables, corsages for my readers, and i believe my church flowers were included or discounted. I checked them out along with Pedestals (crazy expensive!!), Burton's, and Flowers by Brian. Burtons doesn't guarantee that your flowers will be available, it is a 'we will try, but if it's not in stock we will use something similar' type of place which I wasn't a fan of. And Flowers by Brian was great and very similar to Distinctive, but Distinctive was slightly less expensive

good luck!

We went to Burton's and that was IT! We booked on the spot. They are fantastic we are doing all high centerpieces and got a phenomenal price. You pay for the amount of centerpieces we need not the type of flowers. I was guaranteed they could get any flower I choose.

I went to 3. I knew exactly what I wanted and how much it should cost bc my cousin is a florist, so the decision was very easy for me. I booked with Lenea from with all my heart floral. I live in queens and it's a hike for me also, she's located in East Wind, but she was worth it and very easy to work with.

We did 4. Hidden Essence, Wicks, Chic, and for the life of me I can't remember the fourth. We ended up booking Hidden Essence. Not only was Michelle beyond amazing, she had the best prices!

(I'm in Floral Park - TRUST ME - Michelle is worth the trip!)

I haven't even started to look for a florist yet and I'm anxious about it bc I don't care very much about it and think flowers are over priced and I know what I want and it's simple but I'm worried they will charge me just bc they can

I did two. Dale's Flowers from the Heart... and Michelle at Hidden Essence.

Michelle is worth the trip!!!!

We just did Colonial because they have been the family's florist forever and we know they do incredible work. It's good if you have a place you are a regular at.

This! We had spoken to one florist and met with another before we talked with Sheryl, but we pretty much knew right away that she was it. She spent so much time with us, had a ton of ideas, and didn't try to 'upsell' us at ALL. In fact, at least twice in the appointment she talked us into a less expensive version while totally respecting what we wanted. Give her a shot. She was very flexible with appointments, too.

We went to five as well. The prices will really vary so it's good to shop around.

I went to 4 appointment, one was a total waste. The other 3 were giving me the same quantity with the same flowers. We went with Hidden Essence. the cost was almost 1000 less than the other two. The flowers were beautiful and everything that I wanted. Well worth the trip.

I met with only 2. This website saved me a lot of time. Because of everyone on here I sort of figured out who was going to be in the higher price range and who would be the best deal. It saved me a lot of time. I ended up booking with Black Dahlia. She actually gave me a better price than a family friend who claimed they would give me the best deal.

We only met with 2. I wouldn't drive yourself crazy. Pick 3 and see how it goes. You may end up booking the first one!
