How many guest rooms are you booking for out of towners and what is the number you must guarentee?
I was just wondering what the number of rooms you set aside from guests and what was the number you had to guarantee the hotel. My hotel suggested the average number of rooms was 10 and you have to guarantee 80% show rate. Obviously, this is very variable but what is your situation? Pls help. Thanks. Also, what is the average price for a Sat evening in a LI hotel?

I had to do 10 rooms but I didnt want to guarentte 10 rooms bc I dont have too many OOT my hotel allowed me a cancel date ...I cancelled my rooms and I am not responsible for them...Im getting married at terrace on the park in queens...closest hotels are at LaGuardia so the rates are high I got the Crowne Plaza for 135

I blocked 20 at one hotel & 10 at another & half went unused because my 'NO' count was sooo high. Majority of our guests were oot & it's just too hard to fly now with the economy the way it is.
I would do at a hotel where you not responsible if they come or not
