We are (can you tell Im bridezilla right now)
Anthonys uncle who is marrying us is only performing a mock ceremony for our guests. Hes not legal in NY.
We need to get married at the town hall first and trying to get a few adults together for a few minutes is rediculous. I feel like if its important enough for you to be there be there and if not well see you at CLM and they are making such a HUGE deal out of it!!!

I would show up with your guests. If you only have 10, I don't think they would throw anyone out.
good luck!

Well with brothers and sisters and spouses we have 19. Does that seem o.k?
I kind of wish it would only be the 2 of us at this point

That is basically family. I cant not allow spouses. Without the kids (and I dont know how Id ask this family not to bring them) wed have 15.

If your FH's uncle goes down to town hall himself, he can be granted permission to LEGALLY perform the ceremony at your wedding for that day!!!

I don't know how your town hall has it set up, but my brother got married in town hall in the Town of Hempstead and they actually had chairs set up in a seperate room and I think you could have easily for 20 people in there.
Try going in person - you might have better success.

I am guessing you can't get someone else to do the ceremony for you at CLM and have his uncle as a guest instead? It's probably too late huh?

What if...
your uncle dresses up as Elvis, as to FOOL CLM into thinking he is one of the Elvis impersonators ACTUALLY licensed to marry you?!
I think you could pull it off!!!
If it doesn't work, distract 'em all with the bra!

Why even have your uncle 'marry you' if it is fake? Doesn't make sense to me. What is the point of the mock ceremony?

why not get an authentic officiant?
EXACTLY!! Save yourself all the headache and frustration and get a real officiant for CLM.

Sentimental value, I'm guessing. A lot of people do that. It sounds like is is ordained in NJ. It may be too short notice, but could you have someone co-officate? Would that make it legal? I understand the importnace of havingthe uncle involved.
If not, just pick a date for the town hall & tell them whoever can come, should come. I think they will let them all & if they can't make it, CLM is your 'real' wedding anyway.
