1) How many will you do? 2) How many dirrent places will you try?
I hate the thought of paying for trials but it seems to be a necessary evil. I'm trying to figure out how many most people do.

I only did 1..... Jenn the hair genie and Oksana.... I was sold!!
But i know people who had a few done and try to plan it around events so that way at least u got to actually 'use' the trail KWIM?!

one hair trial - booked - BUT i have to go back to do the actual wedding hairstyle since i cut my hair short and am going to wear it up instead of half up/half down
make up - 3 - last person i tried was *** - i am going to book with her but go for another trial before the wedding....
so im planning on doing two more trials - one hair and one make up but with the artists that i booked for the wedding - just to get the look i want down.....
hair and make up are the only things ive been picky about it - everything else was soooooo easy!

I've done 3 so far. Not that I really wanted to pay so much but your face is going to be in every photo so you have to love it. I'm not stopping until I'm blown away!!

I agree that make up seems so silly to spend alot of money on and yet the pictures are what is going to last forever so I feel like I should try and try until I find somewho who: a) gets what I want b) can do what I want c) I feel completely confident in d) makes me look gorgeous and feel like a princess
I only did one....and i thinks thats all u should have to so..its too expensive.....when i went she asked alot of questions and as she was doing it made sure i liked it as it all was happening.....meaning that she would have changed colors and they way she applied the makeup if I wasnt liking it as it was going on..same with hair...i was involved every step of the way...thats what a trial is and thats why it takes a long time.....
I think its crazy to spend hundreds of dollars doing it a few times...but thats JMO

I did 2 hair and 4 makeup trials. It is but like you wrote, a necessary evil...you want to look stunning and not everyone can produce that look for you!!

I did a make up trial with Karen Abitol and then I booked M I A (for hair & make up) and did my trial with her 4 months later. I booked her based on her reputation. I knew she could do anything. I'm going for another trial with her to try a few more hair styles.

Sounds like me, I was a really tough customer to please I guess.
I went back to the lady that did trial 1 cause she was so sweet, didn't charge me an arm and leg to travel to North Fork, and gave me a free re-trial.

I did one hair trial and booked her right on the spot bc I loved it. However, yesterday I went on my first makeup trial and was not happy at all so now I need to go on another one. If want to do as few trials as possible bc it is a lot of money!!!!! So I guess it depends on how long it takes me to find someone I like.
Once I pick someone, I may do trials with them closer to the wedding once my ideas are finalized.
