How many have actually seen this....

I am VERY interested in having my MOH and best man become ordained and perform the ceremony.
has anyone done this, seen this, or know someone who did this?

we are getting married on site, and we plan on going to a local church afterwards with just close family and having a small church ceremony, but for the day of the wedding i see it as i could hire someone and pay them... OR have it more personal and have them do it... btw.. they are totally on board!! thoughts???

Also, i thought i would keep this as a secret.. but do you think i should? or just tell bridal party??

thanks!

i think it's hit or miss ... they can be ordained and do an AWESOME job ... or they can mumble and say 'um' a lot because they're nervous to be doing it ...

but if you know them and their public speaking abilities, then i think it's a cool idea

We want to do this!!! My cousin offered to do it since he is ordained already, and that got us thinking that it might be fun to have one of our best friends do it, since they know us so well. One of FH's best friends is a great public speaker and has known us both since we started dating, and FH actually asked him to do it already... he isn't sure if he wants to though lol.

I went to a wedding last summer where the bride's Step Mother married them. It was so nice because she said such nice things about both of them and it was such a great ceremony. I think that if you trust the person it's a really nice touch!

My step-brother did this. His friend was VERY nervous, and it showed. However, it seemed kind of quaint rather than a 'mockery'. I think he could have used more practice but I do think it had more meaning.
