I am only working so much because I am planning my retirement at age 30, I want to be a SAHM and full time wife. All of my money goes into the bank, we will be moving to Florida and putting a lot down on a house so DH can easily make the payments. I really want to do it old school 50's mom style. lol

this schedule happens on and off depending on my projects. I usually work a 50 hour week, but Then I tack on free lance work. I am an interior designer, I do more architecture related design, so the deadlines just get crazy.

It is the nature of the business, so I feel like I sould shut up and just work.

Between 40 - 50

I get here around 8:45 - 9 am and leave between 5 and 6 pm.

One of my good friends was doing interior design for restaurants in NYC but she got a job in LA doing interior design with Michael Berman (? the name means nothing to me but maybe you'll recognize it). I forget which company she worked for in NYC.

Honestly, I think your commute is really hard.

You take the train from Stony Brook into the city everyday, right?

I had a conference in the city and I took the train from Ronkonoma and I was totally wiped out from the commute.

That is a long commute on top of a 60+ week. I work about 50-60 hrs average plus more if there are projects and offsites and the commute really stinks. Both of us work in the city, but his hours are better than mine (sales). I tried LI jobs but the money wasn't enough to pay the mortgage!

About 55-65 hours a week. Usually around 60.

Yes, I commute from Stony Brook. So I am tacking another 5 hours to the equation. Basically, I get up at 5:30, get to work by 8:30, leave between 7:00-9:00, get home between 9:45-12:00. ok, I NEED TO GET A JOB ON LI!

When its not tax season...42 hrs a week...durning tax season easy 60+hrs a week...
Plus I go to school FT ... I need to hit the lotto or soemthing...

I work 60+ hours/week, but I love my job, and live 5 minutes from the office, so no commute. If I had a long commute, it'd be much harder (DH's commute is 45 minutes each way, and he is pretty ambivalent about his job - ugh.)

i'm out of the house by 6:50 and get to work around 7:45. i do copying and setting up my room to have the kids come in at 8:15 and then i teach. i leave, on a good day by 3, but i'm not home until 4. then later in the evening, i do about 2-3 hours of planning and then about 8 hours during the weekend. so without my commute, i average 50 hours a week. i put a lot of time and energy into teaching and i hope it gets easier!
