On average, how many hours a day does everyone work? I do 10 on average with the occasional 13 hours a day. Then a 2.5 hour round-trip commute to the office and back. Plus do occasional weekend work. I think I'm getting burned out. Wedding planning on top of this is stressing me out big time.

I work 9 - 5:30 and I get a 1 hour lunch break so I only work for 7.5 hours! And my commute is about 15 -20 mins each way....not bad can't complain!!

I'm there for 8 hrs. Number of hours that I have actual work lol I won't even write it. I could never do your hours. You are a trooper.

What do you do as a job? I assume you get paid a salary? If you aren't salaried and make an hourly wage then you should get overtime for any hours worked over 40 hours.
I work 8 hours a day, but when I have to stay late/come in early I get paid overtime.

I work 10 hrs mon-fri when its not busy. If I am busy i can easily work 12 hr days.
No overtime for me... I guess that is what year end bonuses are for... sigh....

12.5 hr nights 3x a week with a 30 min (60 round trip) commute. Technically I get an unpaid 30 min break in there and 2 paid 15's - but that rarely happens! I walk in the door at 8am so tired! The life of an RN... And this fall I want to get a per diem job somewhere (maybe and extra 3-4 days/month. Nurses have a huge burnout rate! Whatever I'm young and childless.
LOL, I'm an RN too, but I work days.
I want to pick up a per-diem for extra money...not sure where though.

isnt there a law over a certain hours you should get time and a half? Maybe I am mistaken.
Lately I have been working 9 hr day incl 1 hr lunch and 1 hr is OT and it takes 20 min to and from work

For covered, nonexempt employees, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requires overtime pay (PDF) to be at least one and one-half times an employee's regular rate of pay after 40 hours of work in a workweek. Some exceptions apply under special circumstances to police and firefighters and to employees of hospitals and nursing homes.
Some states have overtime laws. In cases where an employee is subject to both the state and federal overtime laws, the employee is entitled to overtime according to the higher standard (i.e., the standard that will provide the higher overtime pay).
Extra pay for working weekends or nights is a matter of agreement between the employer and the employee (or the employee's representative).
NY IS one of those states. If you are not salaried/exempt you are entitled to overtime pay by law! I work from 8:30 to 4:45 with 45 minutes for lunch. I get paid for every minute over a 7.5 hour work day that I put in. If I have to attent an event on a weekend it is double time.

I work from home. Some days are 20 hr days, some I try to take the day and forget about everything.

I work from 8:15 to 5 with an unpaid hour lunch and it takes me about 40-45 min to get to and from work(almost an hour and half round trip)! but anything i work over that is overtime.

12 hours Monday thru Friday... 6 on Saturday and Sunday. I drive all over the island to various kids houses. It stinks!!!

On average Im in the office for 10hrs, m-f, but am usually working at home at night (like i should be now lol). weekends are hit or miss but i try to bring the work home with me instead of going in on weekends,
im salaried so no OT... grrr
commute is 10 mins each way

during the school year, the hours that i MUST be at school are 7:20 to 2:00. I usually get there between 6:50 and 7 am. I stay until at least 3:00, sometimes later depending what needs to be done (meetings, report cards, phone calls, etc). On average, the time I spend at work is 8 hours. I also do a lot of work at home (lesson plans, marking papers). I have a 45 min commute each way.
During the summer I work 8:30 to 2:30 with a 10 minute commute.

ugh, too many.
8-10 hours/day. Lunch at my desk usually. My commute is 2hrs round trip. Pretty awful.

So on avg I am pulling 9-11 hour days, 2 - 2.5 hr commute (depends) ...work thru lunch most times...no wknds. Wknds are for errands and cleaning the apartment tho... not much fun...just different kind of work. I am feeling your pain...
