Our mass begins at 4 PM...cocktail hour at 7 PM. It seems like a long time in between until you break it down. Mass will end at about 4:45, receiving line/pics outside of church 'til 5:15 ish, 1/2 ride to reception hall, an hour for pictures before cocktail hour.

It's a nice gesture for someone to open their home for guests to go to between ceremony and reception, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. You're the bride! You're in charge!! I can't tell you how many times we've had to kill time between wedding masses and receptions as guests. Now it's our turn
