I'm looking at a five and a half hour reception that includes ceremony (half hour) and cocktail hour (one hour). The rest goes to dinner. Do you think I have enough time? How long is your wedding?

I am DEFINITELY going to my cocktail hour even if it means missing my photo shots. My parents were at their whole cocktail hour, those were the days when it was frowned upon to step foot in your cocktail hour. They were SOOOO happy that they were able to be there for the whole thing.
My ceremony starts at 330 and our reception ends at 1230am. :)

mine was about 6 - 1 1/2 cocktail and the rest was for the reception

We didn't fully book the church yet, but we are shooting for a 4pm ceremony... the guests can start arriving at the RH at 6:30... CH starts at 7... that's one hour...then they move across to the main room... that's till 12. I think that will be MORE then enough time. All the weddings I went to were that length of time. :)

Our ceremony starts at 7:30. Cocktail hour from 8:00-9:00, dinner and dancing from 9:00-1:00 am. Since we're late night people, and so are my parents, we decided to book the after party now to get a better deal. I personally just knew that at 1 am when the wedding was over, I didn't want to have to figure out what to do/where to go. So our after party is going to be from 1 am to 3 am.
