before you found 'the one.' DH and I are about to begin the process and I'm just trying to get a really rough idea of what to expect.

Only about 5-6, but we looked on mlsli.com for months before, so we had a good idea of what we were looking for.

Probably about a dozen. The one we bought was the first one we saw and said 'no way'. After a few months of seeing even worse s**t it looked so much better.

we lucked out with this house! we looked for two weekends and found it the second weekend-proly looked at about 12 overall. when we bought our condos (separately) we looked at alot more, about 20-30 each. i have some friends who looked for months, made three-four offers, and it just took a lot longer for things to happen, usually about a month or so.

We looked at a few in March - maybe 5
In April we went on an 'open house tour' of towns we liked in Nassau but realized we didn't like the small properties in our price range in Nassau. Saw about 12 houses.
Decided we'd look at a couple of towns is Suffolk, spent a Sunday in Lindenhurst, narrowed it down to a neighborhood we loved, went to about 7 open houses and found 'our' house that same day, made a bid that night, it was accepted the next day and now we are waiting for a closing date.

Been to over 50 in the last 5 months. Weeknights out with the realtor...weekends at open houses...we lost another this morning to someone who was willing to forgo the engineers inspection --which is something we are not willing to do. I'm so sick of this!

I'd safely say 75-100 over the course of almost 6 months.
Our house we bid on and lost. It came back to us though and we were almost about to go with a different house in Massapequa. Good thing we didn't :)

too many! We looked at about 50 over 4 months. It wasnt a fun process but we wound up with a great house, so it was well worth it in the end.

I think this weekend is our 4th weekend looking. We've seen about 8 so far and we'll see 5 more this Saturday

I lost count but I would say at least 35-40..We went to open houses every weekend for a year....We started to get fustrated bc the houses that were out there were just not worth the money! Then we found our home!!!

Probably 10 and all in one day. Our first day out, we found 'the one'. I guess we were pretty lucky. My BIL and SIL having been looking for 2 years and still nothing, although he's extremely picky.
