We're going tonight to pick out our invitations. Our minimum for the hall is 150 - there's a chance we may get up to 200 on our list. We plan on inviting everyone with a guest (I'm so charitable )
FI's mom has been impossible to nail down a firm number for 'her side'. What do you guys think - how many invites to order AND how many envelopes (to allow room for 'mistakes' as my mom will be doing the calligraphy by hand).

You need to figure out your guest list first...then the invites. We invited 142, sent out 56 invites (including one to us) so we ordered 75 to be safe.

We had the guest lists but didn't know the exact number of invites we needed. I ordered my invites and the woman told me that we had to confirm the exact number of invites after we got the proof and said ok on it. My invitation woman said that it is best to order another 25 envelopes just incase mistakes are made but I would ask the place that you are using they will know best.

I ordered nearly double what we will need. It was only a few dollars more, so I figured better to have too many...

Order a few extra. My invite list was in the low sixties and now it is at 74. I ordered 75. Wish I had ordered more just in case! And definitely order 25 extra envelopes.

We ordered a lot exra as well figured it would be cheaper to have more then to have a rush for additional.
I would prob. order 150- 200 @ the least if those 200ppl are a lot of couples and also to allow for mistakes-
I would wait a bit longer- as someone else suggested just to get a better handle on the list.

We invited 260 guests and we ordered 150 invitations.
Definetely allow for mistakes!!!!

We ordered ours today. We have 323 guests with 183 addresses so we ordered 200 invites. I would figure out your guest list first and then order the invites accordingly. You still have time to order them.

Done! We ordered 125 invites and all the 'stuff' that comes with them and 75 Save the Date magnets.
The lady we used is FANTASTIC - works out of her home (Perry Hall, MD).
