My fiancee and I are in discussion about how many girls are TOO many in the bridal party. I already have 7 girls, but I really wanna ask my cousin, and she wants to be in it really bad, but my fiancee says 8 girls is too many. Soo, my question to all you ladies out there is HOW MANY IS TOO MANY!? I believe that 8 is not too much, plus one flower girl. One of my roomates from college has 13 including 3 flowergirls!! Thats a little over the top for me, but I dont think 8 is too much. Please post your opinions.

I have 8 bridesmaids (including maid of honor), 2 jrs, and 2 flower girls. We found it to hard to not include people that are important to us so we figured the more the merrier. We looked at it we are only doing this once in our lives so might as well just go for it.
Since there are so many people instead of them all standing at the alter with us I am going to have everyone except for the MOH and BM sitting in the first pew.

It's your decision. There's no rule as to how many is too many. IMO it's just more to deal with (dresses, RD, gifts) so I am keeping it small. It's totally up to you.

I agree with all the girls, its your wedding so do what you want !!!! I dont remember where I read, but I think the rule of thumb was 1 bridesmaid per 50 guests.

This must be a common issue for brides and grooms cause we are facing the same. I have 7 girls (including mOH) and 6 guys (includes BM), and 4 kids (2 boys 2 girls). I really want to add one more BM, but FH thinks it's too much!

We're having 8 BM and 8 GM including the BM and MOH, as well as 2 RB and a flower girl. At first my FI said it was to much, but then I expressed to him I had a heavy heart not including some people; he understood and finally agreed.
So I don't think 8 BM is a lot, its actually a lot of fun. I can't wait until the wedding day.

I don't think that's too many, but some might think I have too many.
I have 2 MOH's, 1 BM, 1 Jr. BM and 1 FG. FI has the same, but boys ;)
And we have 8 Bell Ringers, which really aren't part of the 'bridal party' but I group them all together b/c it's just easier.
And if you want to get crazy crazy - I have 3 readers and 1 soloist. So that's like 22 people altogether, not including the most important people, the B&G :D

Its totally up to you. We have 9 girls and 8 guys. I started out wanting a small BP, but then when i started thinking aout the people that I really wanted included...well, it came to 9!

It's really up to you, and how you and your FH feel about it. To some people, 4 is way too many and to others, 7 or more are just fine. For me, I only want 1.

I agree with the partying aspect! I can't wait yeah 8 girls may seem like alot but you do what's right for you! I have 8 girls but 4 of them are my sisters and the rest bff! hehe (circa 1989)
