I'm not an Islander fan, but one of my bridesmaids is an Ice Girl so I root for them a little bit.

To be honest, I don't even watch enough hockey to call myself a fan of any team.

Islanders fan here! Havent followed in a while, but I always wear my jersey when I go iceskating.

I wore my Islanders jersey when I went skating in Rye (the rink where the Rangers practice). I got some dirty looks

My pop was a huge fan when I was growing up. He had season tickets right behind the goalie so whenever they played we would look for him on tv. My garndma even made him a sweater to look like the Islander Jersey because back when I was kid you couldn't buy them.lol.

My dad was there for every time they won the stanley cup. After he stopped getting tickets, they never won after that...

I'm a Ranger fan, sorry. But I'm mourning the loss of Mike Richter. I don't know if I will ever be able to watch happily again. Then again, who can be happy watching a team that can't make the playoffs if they were handed a puck and told to throw it in the net.

Islander fan here too! Let's hope for a good season after the spectacular pre-season they had.

See photo to the left.... FH and I are season ticket holders for about 4 years now.

I saw a bachelorette party today in my section at the game.... was it anyone from here?

OMG....she does it everytime....Misty, you manage to crack me up with EVERY single post you write about sports! But, maybe it''s b/c you and I are 'blessed' with rooting for the same sorry ass teams!

I am not an ice hockey fan.

More because of the loud fans. I went to a few games (Islander ones) and the fans just annoyed the hell out of me. One got so mad he jumped up and spilt his whole f&*^king beer all over me and didn''t even have the nerve to apologize.

OK so that could happen anywhere but I guess it just turned me off of hockey.

I am more a baseball fan, not a huge one but I like it more than basketball and hockey.
