how many months before your wedding did you start dress shopping?

I was over 18 months away from our date when I went shopping and got my dress!!!!!

i got engaged the end of June and i went to DB the end of July... so just under a year away from the wedding

I got engaged at the end of November and went dress shopping for the first time in February. Then I didn't go again until the summer. I purchased my dress at the end of August and it was delivered just before Christmas!

Wedding's this April and I started looking last Feb. I was too anxious to wait to go dress shopping.

I started in November and ordered at the end of December. My gown will be in september. So I guess between 14-15 months. My search was not long at all, (1st dress I tried on)

First appt was exactly 1 year before my wedding, and a found my dress a few weeks later.

Went the end of December/beginning of January. So around 10-11 months.

We got engaged in April 09 and the first time I went to try on dresses was in the summer of 09 - not serious dress shopping though, just to play dress up LOL.

I think around Oct/Nov of 09 I went dress shopping with my mom and grandma but this time and little more serious - trying to find some styles that I like and worked for me.

Just went dress shopping again this past Sunday, but starting to be a little more serious about it and I have it narrowed down to 4 dresses. Since my mom is the one paying for the dress I left it up to her when I should start to seriously look and she told me she thinks I should. Have another appt on Feb 20 to try on my #1 dress I've had my eye on so we'll see how it goes!

I bought my dress 15 mths ago it was the first thing I did. I also knew whatstyle I wanted and I still love my dress!!!!!!!!

I started around 11 months away. When I actually purchased the dress I was at the 10 month mark.

I went about 20 months before. I would have waited for the one year mark, but I actually WON my gown and the gift certificate was aboutt o expire..so for the next 16 months and 16 days, my gown is sitting in my closet 3 feet from me. I caved in and unzipped the bag yesterday to have a look.

If not for the contest I would have gone at the 1 year mark.

I was engaged March 08 and ordered my dress in Sept 08. The dress came in Jan 09 and by Decmber of 09 I needed a larger size and reorderded. I would start looking but and wait to order to a little closer to your date.

i ordered mine 9.5 months before. the store recommended ordering no later than 8 months prior.

I went to Kleinfeld's a month ago and have two more appointments this month, one at Bridal Reflections in the city and one at BG. I have about a year and 3 months to go... worried about picking a dress too soon!!!
