Started dress shopping last month and my wedding isnt until November 2012.

but my search is over because I found the one!

I was engaged this past August 09 and bought my dress at the very end of October 09 and I'm getting married this August so 10 months before.

i started about 9 months before the wedding. they said it normally takes about 6 or 7 months for gowns to come in (depending on designer). ordered mine in oct. and its coming in april soooo that leaves me with a couple of months to either get my butt in shape, or have alterations!

not too long after I got engaged (2 yr engagement) but I spent several months visiting stores and looking at Bridal Magazines..and didn't physically BUY my dress until about a year before the wedding. This way I could allow time for the dress to come in, needed alterations, and time to even consider getting a 2nd dress for the reception.

Let's see ... I went shopping around Labor Day 08, so about 14 months prior ... but I did not order until 12 months prior to the wedding.

I started in January 2010 and my wedding isn't until June 2011. The botiques were a little shocked that I was doing it so early but I guess I was just a little excited...it's so much fun!!! and now there's a Running of the Brides at Filenes this Friday which I'll probably be going to!!!!

I found my dress and put the deposit on it in Jan so 14 months before.

I started looking about 18-19 months out because I am picky..found my dress and put a deposit this month so 15 months out.

This is also b/c I am finishing my degree, working and student teaching so I knew after this month it would be really hectic and I didn't want to wait until the last minute.
