How many months in advance did u

send out your STD's??? Is 15 month too early? We just got one in the mail for may 06? I want to send mine out now!

I think we did ours in 10mths.

ETA: Make sure if you do send them out this early you should send them out to people you are definitely going to invite... A lot of things change in 15 mths...

Funny you mention. I just had an argument with my FI last night about this. All of his family is OOT so I thought sending it a year in advance was appropriate....that gives everyone plenty of time to make plans. I even drafted a note with info about the hotel, airports LIRR etc.

Well he says I should wait till 6 months before, becuase everyone will loose it and/or forget. I was so upset. This is so important, why would people FORGET!!!!!!

So P.S. to answer your question. I think a year is appropriate...13 months maybe. so you should be able to sent them soon.

As far as what is standard I dont know.

I think you should at least wait till a year...people will probably be surprised to get something over a year in adavance and may not be as apt to mark it on their calendar right away

we gave them out as favors at our e-party, which was about 11 months in advance... i then mailed them out to anyone who couldnt make it...i included the hotel info in them...

JMO: I honestly think 15 months is way too early.

We sent ours out this month (July) and our wedding's in April '06 - 10-9 months.

You just don't want people to lose them, forget, etc.

I sent mine out a year in advance and I have to say I do think a lot of people forget about it and especially the hotel info, because now I still need to send the hotel info in the packet because a lot of people did forget.

I am sorry I just cant imagine people forgetting. I am talkling Aunts and Uncles not distant cousins four time removed!!!

Am I being self absorbed? If someone I was close to (a family member or friend) sent me a save the date, with information, I would make a point to remember and save it....and I have got a relatively busy life.

I'm sending mine out a year in advance because it's a holiday weekend and I want family to book hotels since I know I will not have enough rooms for everyone. I think it depends on what weekend you are having it and how many OOT guests you will have. 75% of our guests are from OOT.

aww dont apologize!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I will send them out in december perhaps.....sometime this fall.....11-13 months iam thinking!

We sent them out also with our CHristmas cards, so about 7 months early (we were only engaged for 11 months though!). I think a year out is the earliest you should...even at 7 months, lots of people called us since they lost the hotel and travel info we sent with our STD magnets.
