how many no's

how many no's

So I have a guest list of 200, but id like it to to be closer to 175 the day of... There is no one I can not invite, so I have to hope some people (hopefully not my friends, lol) RSVP no.

How many people RSVP'd no to your event?

Do anyone have no one RVSP no?

TIA!!

Re: how many no's

I sent 96 invitations (about 170 people invited) and have a little less than half back with about 3 weeks til the RSVP date and I've received 17 no's and 74 yes (according to my count yesterday). We have a lot of OOT invites and many can't come.

I think it's going to depend a lot on the time of year and where your guests are coming from.

Thanks for the response!

It's January...but we only have three OOT guests. They live in Colorado, but are coming in for xmas and staying with family til after the weeding... so they are def coming.

I can imagine only a few people saying no... if the list stays at 200 thats not the end of the world...but just wondering what everyone's exprience was like.

I had a guest list of 181 and I really thought most would come. We ended up with 130......You will probably have more people say no than you think. I had people who just couldn't afford it.

We have invited about 135 so far (invites are still going out) and we have gotten quite a few no's because a lot of guests are from out of town/state/country. Some of those people we knew would likely RSVP no but we didn't want to exclude.

Assuming that you are inviting all of those people, maybe consider inviting some of those folks without a +1. We read an article on theknot.com about not feeling pressured to reserve 2 seats for single friends and for some of our friends we didn't. For example, if the person was habitually single and wouldn't know anyone then we did but for some of FH's high school friends who all know each other and are all single, we are making a table of all of them.

i think the average decline response is around 20%.

It depends how many OOT people you have. My mom invited a lot of OOT courtesy invites and most didn't come, which was great! You will probably get about 10-20% no they say.

There ar so many theories on how many people say no....20%, 22%.

We are inviting about 190 an anticipating that we will have a final list of 185.

I am going into this with the thought that if I invite them I have to be prepared that they will all come. Now, we all know that not EVERYONE will come......but what about that poor girl last week who invited 200 and had 210 yes's?

Just be prepared :)

we invited around 220, and we had 160 show up. we did invite alot of out of state guests, but we were suprised about how many responded no. even extended family we thought were definites, some still responded no. which was really fine by us, it was just less $$$$ in the end.

and be prepared to have a handful of no-shows on the day of. it will happen, and it will pi$$ you off. and when you give your final headcount to the hall, give them 5 under the actual headcount, to allow for this. most halls wont give you a prob, and will let you pay if those 5 random people DO show up.

we had 2 people decide to not bring their dates, our cousin's husband was sick, etc.

they say 20%

I think there's a good point to that, if you send out 200 you need to be prepared that you may have 200! I know someone who sent out 160 and assured her parents she'd have about 100 and had 158!

My sister had a small wedding only 100 invites and she had 98 yes's. So all I am saying is be prepared.......

Also a friend of mine getting married this weekend invited 175 for a hall that only holds 150 knowing for sure some people weren't coming... well change of plans they are all going!! They have to have tables outside of the room in the hallway to accomodate them all

this is my fear.

i'm inviting 225 and i can't cut any of these people. I don't see any saying no except 1 or 2 people. I have..... 5 OOT people but they'll come (OOT meaning New Jersey across the bridge and NYC lol) cuz they are immediate immediate family.

I'm scared i'm going to end up with 200 lol.

This is a big worry of mine too... we dont have a definite number yet but were hoping our total is around 160.... we're probably going to invite about 180.... I do think almost everyone will come, just because both of our families are from here! My dad jokes that we should send then DON'T save the dates!
but seriously... if i dont send them there are better chances that people will have vacations booked that weekend! I may just send the STDs to people I definitely want to be there. is that wrong? lol

i'm freaking out a little too! we invited 338 (my parents and his went crazy!) I am hoping for 280 the most....invitations were sent out monday...I already got 54 yes and only 3 no...help!! haha

Re: how many no's

I think if you're pretty sure that most people are going to come, you'll wind up with about a 10% 'no' rate. So 180 people.

I am VERY scared of this. We want to meet our minimum so we aren't paying for all these extra people (although we will get extra food...). However, our minimum is 300 (we had to guarantee that number to have the whole place to ourselves). We're inviting about 350, but who knows what happens if they all come!!

Re: how many no's

we sent 260 and so far we are at 206 yes and 45 no's. I think we will hit about 210 the RSVP date is wednesday. So we have almost 20% not coming and we were worried we wouldn't have enough no's as well.

Re: how many no's

we invited 220 people and honestly there were a few i knew would say no, but most i didn't think would b/c they are family. well, we only had 180 at the wedding. so the 20% that they tell you will say no, probably will. or close to it at least!
