are giving ur djs a play list..the form he gave me has like 5 lines and i remember him going 'u can use this for the songs u want played' well i was thinkin more of a bunch on a sheet of paper that i hand him lol is that rude?

I have 2 pages of music and specific instructions about what we want, what we DON'T want and the fact that we won't be taking requests, it's not a sweet 16 ya know, so that's how we're doing it, maybe a little bridezilla-ish, but I'm really picky about my music!!! Do what YOU want!!!

just a warning.....be careful if you plan on giving your dj ALOT of songs. i went to a wedding and the dj was horrible (and i had seen them before and they were amazing) well we found out afterwards that the bride gave all the music (and in the order she wanted it) for the entire night and it just did not flow and it was just a big mess.
ive been told by dj's that they like a few suggestions. after all, this is their job and what we are paying all this money for. you should trust them to handle the majority of the music. i plan on giving about 8-10 songs that i want played and leaving the rest up to them!

I gave a LONG list of must play songs and do not play songs. Theres alot of popular songs played at weddings that i didnt want played at my wedding, and alot of non top 40 type songs i did want played.

well the dj should've given advice to her then after they saw the playlist. I sat down with my dj, gave him my long list and we went over it together. After talking to him i crossed out some songs and added others and made a few changes. He advised me as to how many slow songs, and all that info. So the dj is still to blame bc he should've sat down with her. I had a separate appt JUST with the dj 2 weeks before my wedding and we sat down for a bit and went over every song
I also told him what artists i dont like or type of music. I was flexible with some things and said i like this type of music so any suggestions that is similar to this i am fine with.
I picked most of the songs at my wedding and was happy, i had so many ppl come up to me who said, i dont usually dance at weddings but i danced all night. Even dh's friends whom some of them i see at the bar all night or at their tables, were on the dance floor all night. BUT i can see how some brides put like stuff ONLY they like and no consideration of others or the flow of the night. Ive seen this done before. I made sure to put all types of genre's, all types of music, i even did international music. I did doo-wop, R&B, hip-hop, reggae, rock, pop, house, spanish music, italian music, and so on. I made sure to do a little of everything and make sure they were very upbeat songs

We are giving him a HUGE must play list, and NO PLAY list. He was the DJ for FSIL's wedding in September, and he literally played every song on her list! (I know because I put it together for her )

I know the paper that they gave us really didn't have a lot of room on it for a play list but I have about ten song that I really want played and then I'm putting it in to there hands....As long as everybody is up and dancing I'll be happy!!!!

Ours gave us a sheet with 20 spaces for songs but told us to use the back for more if we wanted.

Def. giving him must play songs, do not play songs.....I really do trust my dj so I am also just going to give him a list of the bands and artists we love and he can pick what works best....we like a huge variety of music and when FH and I sat down with our DJ we all just clicked so we really do trust him....I guess I am just giving him an outline...LOL

We gave our DJ a huge playlist and he gave us his staple wedding song booklet and we went through it with different colored markers highlighting must play, do not play, highly recommended, etc. in it.
