how many of u..

are giving ur djs a play list..the form he gave me has like 5 lines and i remember him going 'u can use this for the songs u want played' well i was thinkin more of a bunch on a sheet of paper that i hand him lol is that rude?

I'm definitely going to give a seperate list, I don't think it's rude. There's just not enough room. Same with photography and must take pics, there's just not enough room for all the obligatory family shots.

It's not rude at all - it's your wedding, you're paying him so therefore, feel free to hand him a sheet of paper with your entire playlist. Remember, he's working for you that day.

amen to that! ask for what you need! it's your wedding and it's not like he's a band that has to LEARN the song. . just has to hit play!

my dj gave me like 6 sheets of paper to write on and was like, feel free to add as many more as u'd like. im gonna give him a lot.. but hopefully when i sit down again and tell him the general direction i want the music going, he'll know what to do.

I don't think it's rude.. it's your day and you want songs played and you should be able to have them played.. don't worry about insulting the DJ on this one

I am giving a play list too! I think 20 songs are good for 1 hour worth of music if the songs are approx 5 mins each. I remember reading that somewhere. I figured that info might help you guys out a bit. When i added it up it didn't make sense... but I guess they don't play the very end of every song.. they probably cut it into another song with the same type of beat instead of going all the way to the end.

Everytime I hear a song I like on the radio or basically anywhere I am... I put it on a wedding song list... actually I have like 5 song lists... 1 for our song... 1 for what we walk into... 1 for regular songs to hear... 1 for dinner songs.. etc. I think I might be insane!

I'm not giving my DJ a play list....its a DO NOT PLAY LIST. I will give him ideas of the types of songs we want played but not actual songs.....I just know which ones I def. do not want played

I'm only giving my DJ a few MUST play and a longer list of DO NOT PLAY. My Dj's are going to have to deal with a wide range of genre's....I purposely booked with a Multicultural DJ for this reason. We could have gone cheaper but we wanted to go with best- people who know how to beat mix to reggae, salsa, vallenato, hip-hop, cumbia ect...

I trust them to read the crowd and keep people on the dance floor. That is their job. True DJing is an art, I don't want to limit anyone.
