How many of us are the sole 'event planner' in our relationships?
Not necessarily wedding related, but weekends, etc.
I am THE planner. If it was up to FH, we'd sit in front of the tv all the time. He makes the occasional poker night plans, but that really doesn't count, because someone else asks him!
I'm tired of being the only sign of life!!!
Monday is my birthday. What are we doing this weekend? Monday? Tuesday? YOU GUESSED IT- nothing!!!! He has no plans. Last night, he tells me, 'If you wanna do something, you should start calling some people.'
I feel like throwing a 'PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEEEEE' tantrum!!!!

I am and I both hate it and love it sometimes I wish that FH would take the initiative, but he relies on me because he knows that I am good at event planning. Besides when I do it I know that it will get done right because I am an avid researcher

I think most men are this way! I always tell FH...i remember when you used to take me here & there...and he jokes saying that's because he was trying to 'catch' me..he does do one or two great things a year...but i tell him i'd prefer little things here & there more often...perhaps we should write a book called 'If You Want to Get Some..Learn How to Give Some!' haha

Im sorry Nic. I have to say that Angelo does plan things alone for us but checks with me 1st incase i dont wanna do that... most of the times we make plans together. I wish I could say something more to make u feel better but the only bright side is thats at least he doesnt make plan things that u dont like to do

Hmmm i think were both equal in this...FH is VERY big into dinners and always wants to go out to dinner, i kinda had to tell him to stop a little, one were saving for a wedding and 2 im gonna gain too much weight...When it comes to clubs and stuff like that, its more me, but sometimes it can be FH...He has a kind of been there, done that attitude when it comes to clubs and partying, hes done more than his share of that.
Birthdays work out perfect for us bc were a few days apart so we do it together, infact were going out this saturday for our birthdays.

I'm sorry! My FH doesn't do much either! And this morning on our way to work I jokingly asked him what he was getting me for VD and I said I hope it's something romantic and he said that we've been together for 6 years and the romance period was over! I told him if the romance is over before we even get married then we are going to be over too!!!! I really hope he was joking and has something cute planned. I don't expect a gift just something sweet... a card or a poem or something to show me he cares!

I can completely relate.
I have to do all of the planning and I hate it. The only thing I ever ask him for the holidays is to plan something for us to do and he flat out says 'no'. I'm so sick of it. I know I'm not getting anything for valentines day and I get so angry that if i want to have a special dinner or day together I have to arrange it myself.

same here!!! I have to say though - when it comes to my bday, my FH really puts alot of researching and effort into planning it, bc he sees how Im always planning and researching for HIS bday, and our anniversary, etc etc.

I feel ya. I am the planner with everything. FH is such a procrastinator. The only thing he's good at is making dinner since I clearly have no time to b/c I'M PLANNING EVERYTHING!!
BTW - Happy EARLY Birthday I hope he makes you eat your words and surprises you with something special for your birthday!

Awww Nicole! He's bound to come up with something for your bday!
My FH is VERY similar. Drives me nuts...I'm lucky if I get a Valentine's Day card this year- we'll see! At least he suggested we go out to dinner!
MEN! Or should I say BOYS!
