How many of us are the sole 'event planner' in our relationships?

Original post by Shorty McBride

Not necessarily wedding related, but weekends, etc.

I am THE planner. If it was up to FH, we'd sit in front of the tv all the time. He makes the occasional poker night plans, but that really doesn't count, because someone else asks him!

I'm tired of being the only sign of life!!!

Monday is my birthday. What are we doing this weekend? Monday? Tuesday? YOU GUESSED IT- nothing!!!! He has no plans. Last night, he tells me, 'If you wanna do something, you should start calling some people.'

I feel like throwing a 'PAY ATTENTION TO MEEEEEEE' tantrum!!!!

OMG I am too!!! With everything! We moved this past weekend and I had to not only pack him but orchestrate everybody!!

He lucks out in the b-day part b/c ours are only 4 days apart, but I know how you feel. He has nothing planned for V-day and has no ideas to help!

I'm in the same situation. I have to do ALL the planning for everything. I always set up all our plans to go out and like you said if it were up to him, we'd never do anything. Especially on the weekend when I really want to do things.
I actually get so annoyed that I told him if HE doesn't take the initiative to plan our honeymoon, we're not going on one. And guess what.. still nothing is done!

I am definitely in the same boat. Funny story from last weekend. FH decided he would plan our Saturday night. He suggested we go to a movie. I was excited - I love the movies and we never go! When I asked what he wanted to see he had no idea. He thought he made the plans by saying let's go to the movies. hahaha I love him! He's too funny!

90% of the time its me..... but the remaining 10% is him.... he'll plan a night at lincoln center, and take care of my B'day and anniversary.... and when he finally DOES plan something, it's always something really special

but we would never see any friends if it were up to him We'd just see his parents!

I have the opposite problem, he is always planning mini roadtrips or some type of event. We are never home when we are off the same days, I am not complaining though we always have fun!!

I think most men are this way! I always tell FH...i remember when you used to take me here & there...and he jokes saying that's because he was trying to 'catch' me..he does do one or two great things a year...but i tell him i'd prefer little things here & there more often...perhaps we should write a book called 'If You Want to Get Some..Learn How to Give Some!' haha

my FH is exactly the same. when we were dating he planned amazing weekends for V-day, B-days, holidays, etc. Now that we're getting married he says he was just trying to impress me then! He'll still pull out all the stops a few times a year, but it's all me for the most part. men
