Mine is, and she is 3 years younger (she's 21). She's excited for the wedding, but not really into helping me with ideas. She's more into her new boyfriend and going out to Mirage or Mulchahys everynight!
I feel like I'm annoying her everytime I ask her to look a dress for me or her..
Anyone else having problems getting their MOH's involved??

Re: How many of your MOH's are..
I don't have any sisters and neither does FH. So I asked a friend of mine from college to be my MOH.
So far things are great, we're going dress shopping tomorrow! It's just tough getting together sometimes bc we're both really busy!!

I don't have any sisters either, well I do but they are way too young....7 months and 8 months. Both my parents are divorced and decided to have babies again....yes, they are crazy... Anyways back to the question at hand I asked my best friend from college to be the MOH. She's been great with ideas, but sometimes she makes me feel like all I ever talk about is wedding stuff....it makes me feel bad sometimes. I hope it will get better though!!!

Re: How many of your MOH's are..
I have two older sisters both pushing 50. I asked neither of them to be in my BP. They do NOT want to wear bridesmaid dresses. Also one is married and one is not. My single sister has resigned to the fact that she may never marry and I know it upsets her. She would rather not be put in a position where someone will be cruel and say 'always a bridesmaid and never a bride' or 'you will be next'. I always hated when people said that to me and I don't want her feelings hurt.
Also, if I asked my sisters, I would have to ask my sister in law, and FH's two sisters. I already have three adults, two teens(my nieces) and two toddlers. A BP of 7 would turn into a BP of 12. To me that is an all out circus and leaves room for many disagreements/fights.
I asked my BP to make sure my family is included when they plan a shower. My sisters are really looking forward to it. They did not need to be in the BP to know how much I love them and how much they mean to me (even though most time they interfere offering unsolicited advice). I am also using my sister and brother's children to represent the family.

Mine is my older sister! I think she is a little annoyed that I am getting married first so at times she is less than helpful!

My sister is my MOH but she's 1 minute older - she's not into any of it and refuses to even talk about it - I'm letting all my girls pick their own dresses shoes etc and she won't even look at the catalogue of dresses - she also hasn't even seen the RH and we booked a year and a half ago - like kell said this is all for my mother who would be devestated if my sister wasn't MOH. I really wanted her to be my MOH b/c she is my sister and I love her but she's shown zero interest in the entire wedding and often rolls her eyes if its even mentioned.
My sister is the queen of eye rolling!
We get along great but shes very involved with her life right now, hopefully when its gets closer she will get more excited.. I have 4 of my friends in my BP also, and they have been great..

Re: How many of your MOH's are..
My MOH is my bestest buddy in the world... and I have had zero problems in this area. She is more than helpful, she's amazing! My three sisters are in it also.. 21, 18 and 8. My 21yr. old sis is really involved, loves weddings, and is thoroughly enjoying making some of my decisions She gets annoyed when I say 'I don't care, whichever you guys like best..' cause she feels I should be firm in my decisions and choose things that I like, not what I think everyone else will like... I'm scared for her wedding... whenever that day comes! Bridezilla in the making????

mine is my little sister as well (23). She is extremely into planning. In fact, a couple of months ago she went to borders and picked up books about bachelorette and shower parties!

Mine is my sister and I have almost the same problem. My older sister is married with three kids all under 7, and she is most times too busy with them to come with me to do anything.

Thanks Kiddo115 You are the best!
I have no sisters & my MOH is also Kiddo115! She is one of my best friends & practically my sister (considering we are 9 days apart ) She has been wonderful to bounce ideas off of & it is so much fun planning together! I always knew she would be standing next to me as my MOH on this day! I would not have it any other way

Re: How many of your MOH's are..
i hear ya! my younger sister is 23 and she is my maid of honor.... she really isn't into weddings at all, so almost everytime i mention it, i get the eye rolls and the ' why do you have to worry about that?' or ' wait! so people have to give you a shower gift AND a wedding gift? thats so dumb!' its not really an immaturity thing, its more like she just really isn't into weddings- shes gonna be the one who goes to mexico and just has my parents and his parents and maybe her best friend there- lol BUT... because shes not into the typical wedding stuff, she did a GREAT job with my shower making it fun and not all hoity-toity... and we'll see about my bachelerette party tomorrow night and, the bottom line is shes still my sister- and you'll always have your sister so i wouldn't have picked anyone else as my MOH
