How many pass for a shuttle??

How many pass for a shuttle??

So FH are really looking to book limos. We also want to book shuttles at the same time since we might hop on the shuttle with the guests to get back to the hotel.
How do you figure out how many passengers for the shuttle? We have no idea at this point who would be staying at the hotel, let alone who would take advantage of the shuttle. I guess I'm really overthinking this but I really don't want anyone stranded at the end of the night. I don't want to have to worry about how someone is getting home.

I think it depends on whether you want the shuttle to make just one trip, or if you want it to make multiple trips. We are figuring we will have 30-40 OOT guests, so we got a 40 passenger shuttle that will go to the venue once. If you miss it you are out of luck.

But my sister had a 40 passenger shuttle that made multiple trips back and forth for her wedding because she had many more OOT guests.

I would say to assume that everyone staying at the hotel would use the shuttle.

i would say you can go for a smaller one and have them make multiple trips (assuming that the hotel & rh are close by). Our hotel is providing us with a 14 passenger one so they will have to make 4-5 trips...it may suck for some guests but its saving us money

I'm also having a hard time making a decision about the shuttle. My hotel is close to 10 minutes away from the venue. I'm not sure how many will be staying over night. I'm thinking it will be around 30 people. One passenger van with 13 seats (provided by hotel) going back and forth will require guests to wait up for 20 minutes for the shuttle to come back. I think this is too long of a wait. Do you?

Not sure if I should get two vans or get a shuttle bus that holds 35 passengers. Either way, this is looking like it will cost nearly $1K if I have more than one passenger van or a shuttle bus. I didn't realize this would be so expensive!

I would book just your limos now, then as the wedding gets closer book the shuttle. Let the limo company know your interested in a shuttle and you will tell them know when you're ready to book. In the mean time to cover yourselves, have the limo compnay throw in a free towncar you you and FH to get back to the hotel. This is what we did and it worked out perfectly.

EDIT: We booked our shuttle ONE WEEK before the wedding! So many people we're booking the hotel last minute!

I don't think we will have multiple trips for the van either. Ours is 15 min away. That's just driving time. So 30 min to get back and prob add 5-10 min more for the loading and unloading of passengers. You'd have to have super early trips! And who would want to be on that one? I just don't think multiple trips there works. Maybe at the end of the night if people want to leave earlier. Yeah, I think we are looking at 2k for the whole limo thing now. I really didn't budget for it but FH said we have 4k left for everything else, which is invites, flowers and limos, so I think we will be okay with that.

I really like this idea. I feel a load off! I think I know how many limos I need there, now to figure out how everyone gets back! LOL.
