I'm curious if the guest list is usually balanced or uneven b/w the two families.

the list was pretty even, however who is actually is going to show is different. our side has more 'friends of the family' and he has more 'friends'. FH's relatives are overseas and can't make the trip, i come from a very small family (both my parents are only children)...

Do you think it'll be 'wierd' if his side has about 40 more people at the wedding than our side?
How the heck will people even know?Am I driving myself nuts or am I getting nervous about something I shouldn't?

I would not get nuts about it. I didn't even think to count who's coming from whose side. FH will only have his parents, his sister and brother in law and his 2 cousins there. His other family is out of state and isn't coming. So I don't think I would care if he had more friends. He is inviting his co-workers and I am not, but he is close with the people he works with.

i would not worry at all....our sides are uneven, but they blend so nicely that no one will be able to tell

My parents have many more friends than his mom so its really unbalanced but FH doesn't care.

Me and FH: 69 My Mom & Stepdad: 50 My Dad: 60 FILS: 85

our sides are very uneven... FH comes from a BIG family and I come from a small family... I don't think it matters b/c they are all there to celebrate the samething...

My family is MUCH bigger than his
For example , I have 10 aunts/uncles to his 4.
I have 25 cousins vs. his 4.
But HE and HIS FAMILY have the larger intila list b/c they want to invite EVERY tom **** and 4th cousin twice removed harry to the wedding.
they'll have to pare it down.
my immediate family (just 1st cousins) is 86 people to begin with...I can only imagine if I invited the same level as he wants to. We'd have 500 people at the wedding.

FH family is much bigger. I think he invited 120 and I invited 80 people.

Our guest list is basically even but he is inviting about 15-20 more. He happens to a bigger family than me.
