My MOH asked for the shower list, and I personally would rather have a small one. I know a shower can be whatever we (I) choose, but what is average ?

Hi Helen,
My sister invited 40 and we had 35 woman total. It was a nice size and it was family and close friends. I didn't invite all the women that I had on my wedding list...I wanted to keep it small as well.

I have a big family....so we had approx. 75 ladies. This is why my mom & sister threw it for me.

Eleven (11) women total including myself. I'd given the guest list to my MOH for 20 women but many cannot attend as well as some were OTT. I think small showers are good since it's intimate to get to know each other and cut costs of preparing down a lot.

I am hoping for 25 ppl max, all women, my FH wanted a co ed, but I am still on the fence about that one.
I am big fan of small intimate gatherings.

I really wanted to go small - but, I have a pretty large family. It was turning into about 70 but we've got it down to about 50 I think.

I have about 75 people on my guest list... I don't really want any more than 50, but that's tough! FH and I both have large lists....
I was at a shower this weekend and there must've been about 80 people and honestly it didn't seem too much! I guess if it's at the right place and the seating is organized, it's not too crazy, however, the bride had to say hello to A LOT of ladies!

You have made my day - my list is 33 (including me) and if between 20 - 25 show up I will be so happy. I thought all showers were BIG, and I just couldn't picture myself in the middle of all that.
So I am not that 'different' after all.

I will probably have around 40 guests. I don't like to be the center of attention either, so to me 40 is alot.

I just went over a list w. my mom yesterday, it looks like we are at 40 people. Its mostly family and close friends.

I think I had 30 or so. We had a bunch of Aunts that were on vacation that weekend & I didn't invite co-workers because they had an E-party for us. I think that amount was perfect, i really got to chit chat with everyone.

The guest list is 104 ladies...we both have big families and I am not even asking the female relatives from out of town...that would make the list go up another twenty people!! I wish I could have a smaller shower!!!!!!!!!!!

i would be happy with 30-40. anything larger than that and the entire shower is spent watching the bride opening gifts!!
