how many photographers...

did you visit before you booked? I'm doing research now and I have a list of 9, which sounds ridiculous to me.

i am just starting and i have like 3 on mine.

i basically research online, then pick 3 who sound reasonable and personable, then make apts, then choose after i see how they are with us in person.

we saw velvet, patken and someone else who i forget.... basically i looked online at pics and narrowed my long list down to the ones i could afford..

my list is super long as well and i just narrowed it down to 10. I tried to put them in order and im making appts in preference order...hopefully ill love one and book them before i get toooo far down the list!

can i get an award for world's laziest bride?

Florist: made an appt with one, he wasnt at the shop so we left - met with another one and booked on the spot.

Photog/Video: met with one, then booked with the second

Hall: went to one, booked with the second ( and the first one was like 10 blocks away from my house! lol)

DJ: booked the first one I went to

Limos: have an appt on Wednesday with Royalty -if I like them i will go with them and book on the spot - if not I am going to check out Camelot

tilde, that's how i am though.

i figure if i keep looking ill just get totally fed up with it, and then make myself go nuts trying to make a choice

if i do my reading on here, then make an apt, then i'm most likely gonna book with them. lol

I narrowed the list down to 4 photographers.

Verdi (amazing pictures, but EVERYTHING was extra and there was a serious upcharge for a digital album.)

Imagine Studios (The best so far, Personable, willing to work with us, great pacakges, alot of things are included. Also offers video, her husband does video)

Something In Blue (Very expensive, and couldnt even give me a set price for 08. Acted like they were doing me a favor)

Martin Willard (Meeting with him Tommorrow)

1. Velvet Studios (CLM Tasting) Nice people and I loved Camacho's wedding. I just never got around to going to their studio since I live in Brooklyn.

2. Studio 563 (Austin, Texas) I LOVED Andy and his work but the travel expenses were putting me way over budget. If money were no object I would have stuck with Studio 563.

Dan Saviano (Long Island, New York)
He works with Golden Moments Films. Had photography skills but had not done enough weddings for me.

4. Milton Gil (New York City/New Jersey) Loved their work and had awsome albums but they were pricey. Also the two lead photographers that I wanted to book were booked for my day and I would have to use someone else in the studio.

5. Kenny Pang (New York City) Very nice guy I loved his pics. However, he only offered one type of album and it did not suit my particular needs.

6. Robert Munroe (Brooklyn) Nice guy he just did not have enough experience for me.

7. Something In Blue (Brooklyn) Loved their work , nice couple but the prices have gone WAY up for 2008.

8. Duet
In the end I booked with Duet. I was able to book the lead photographer of my choice Jay and I am getting SOOOOOO MUCH for my money! Jay's work is amazing! Look at enjft's engagement photos and jmjbride's community album.

I'm the same way...I only met with Duet and we booked them on the spot. We only met with one officiant and booked him on the spot. We knew we wanted FF and booked them on the spot...

(all recommended by brides)

Duet was booked on my date so I met the other three in one weekend. Basicaly had to narrow it down to best service for best price. Originally I had a list of 15. ha! That wasn't happening.

We saw one and that is velvet. I did my research before though. I read reviews, looked at websites and called like every vendor on LIweddings and NYCityweddings to get prices. I knew that velvet was what i wanted and that was that.
