How many photographers are you having?

So I have only one photographer booked for my wedding and no assistant. I'm starting to think I should add an assistant or second photographer because I don't want to run the risk of having ANYTHING missed. How many are you having? I just don't know how much additional it will be to add this to our package and it's annoying knowing I had the price set and for it now to increase :(

I made the mistake of only having one, if you can find it in your budget, go for two.

I have two. I think it's nice to have two because you'll get two different points of view. Also, the main photographer will be at my house when I'm getting ready and the assistant will be with my FH at his house so we'll get shots of both of us getting ready.

I want two because I want to have pics of FH and his groomsmen getting ready, and I also want different views of our wedding, such as us saying our vows and our mothers' reactions, a picture of us saying i do and kissing and the reaction of our guests, and a lot of candid shots that the main photographer cannot capture because they are concentrated on us.

It all depends on what you can afford and what aspects you want photographed. I feel like if you can afford it, you won't regret having TOO MANY photos, you'll only regret having too few.

I have two photographers & an assistant. My fiance' & I will be getting ready in different locations (15-20 minutes away from each other) and I wanted 'getting ready' pictures for both of us and while I'm not having a hugeeee wedding, I wanted different points of view and nothing missed.

We originally had one, but now we have decided two. Don't want to miss FH getting ready!

We have one for the full day (10 hours or so) and one for 6 hours so that we can have pictures of both myself and FH getting ready, 2 photographers for our first look and our ceremony, but our venue is small so we don't need 2 photographers during the reception.

We have 2. We are having a large wedding (200 people) and every photographer we met with recommended 2 photographers since there will be so many people.

We are using 2 -- our package came with both. FH and I are getting ready at two different locations so it was important to have someone with each of us to capture all the moments.

i have a photographer and an assistant :) the assistant will be taking care of lighting and when he's not doing that... he's shooting :) HTH

We have 2. Also came in our package. I debated just 1 for budget reason but like the other girls said I dont want anything missed. I wanted 2 different perspectives and shots of us both getting ready.

We have 2 photographers and an assistant. we had to pay more for the second photographer, it was not included in our package, but the assistant was. We have a large wedding party, a large family, and having enough photos of everyone is very important to us. We have to cut back in other places to afford it but to us that was an important thing to have.

Maybe if you have a DJ who is doing the video snap shots on the screens and then giving you the photos to keep you might not want the second photographer.. or if you have a videographer you might not think you need 2 photographers... if photography is important to you but you don't have a large amount of people you might just want an assistant.. there are a couple different options you can do what suits your wedding best.

Our package also came with two. The 2nd photographer is very beneficial as he can capture the same picture in a totally different angle. Personally I think it's worth it if its something you have to pay extra for.

We are having one photographer but he is the best of the best so I'm not worried in the least. Plus my uncle is a photographer so he will be able to take pics of my fiance getting ready.

I had two a husband and wife team. I loved that they were able to catch us both getting ready, and they both had a different style and focused in on different aspects during the wedding.

I had one from my photographer and then I added zap photos from my DJ. It was great. The zap guy did all of the candids and therefore I got more candids than most. One thing I have found is most wedding photographers are not fond of doing candid dancing shots so thry tend to not do as many

We have 2 photogs and an assistant (for lighting). The second photog was important to us for all the reasons the other girls have already mentioned. It might be worth looking into since after the wedding is over photo and video is all that you have. It might be a good spot to expand the budget if there is any room.
