How many photographers do i really need?

How many photographers do i really need?

Im just wondering if the one photog can get all the shots i want- i have friends who had 1 photog and were fine with their proofs.

im sure one photog is enough...we got two cause they will be getting diffrent kind of shots and i dont wanna miss anything

What size wedding are you having?

They say that for a 'small' wedding of 125-130 1 is enough...but I wanted two, because I didn't want to miss any shots, we wanted different angles of the same shots, posed and candid...etc.

Agreed - we are getting two because of this - and we are having abt 175 people

We are getting two, but only because we want photojournalistic shots as well as traditional posed/candid.

I pushed for 2. It's nice to have someone do the portraits and another one taking candids.

Exactly. Especially because they tend to focus on the bride and groom, if there's one that focuses on you guys another can focus on your guests. Plus you'll get different shots/angles at the church. Our priest didn't want people walking around during the ceremony, so that meant we got pics of both me and DH, not just one of us and the back of the others' head.

I wish i had gotten 2 and so do alot of the NW's. I dont feel like i got enough variety in my proofs at all. I was disappointed. And i have no pictures of the guys getting ready at all becuase the photog was with me the whole time.

We are having 2. From what my photographer said, if you want a photoj-ournalistic artsy look, you will need 2. He could be wrong, but I don't want anything missed...Plus we are inviting 550 people, so i'm thinking, 450 will come.

one is definitely enough, but then again, we got two because we wanted different shots as well. like one can be taking a picture of you two while you exchange vows, one can photograph your mom/dad at the same moment etc... that's really the only consideration to make here. that's what we focused on but one is certainly enough!!

we went with 2.....i dont think you have to have 2 but its definitely nice bc they can be in different places and not miss important shots.

Very good point! While 1 photographer is taking your pictures... The other can take the facial reactions of others... etc.

I had one photographer and one assistant. We got all the shots that we wanted and more. It was plenty considering we didn't do a video.

As long as you provide a detailed list of shots that you want and are very clear about what you are looking to capture, you shouldn't have problem.

I have one photographer with an assistant. The assistant will not be taking extra shots, just helping out with lighting but once their done shooting me at my house their going to the grooms home to shoot him and then to the church.
