My daughter got married in Nov. and we're selecting pictures for our albums. Their album is supposed to have 100 pictures. They went thru them the first time and chose 213!! They're now trying to narrow it down some more. The pictures all came out so beautiful, it 's so hard to narrow it down. Originally the parent albums were supposed to have 24 pictures. I increased mine (mother of the bride) to 50, but ended up choosing 75. I figured I'll just pay the extra $ . My daughter & son in law just finished and can't get down past 187. They just don't want to eliminate any more. How did you girls do it?

The average I've seen for most albums is 60-90 pictures. Ours is supposed to be 70 pics per our contract, haven't gone through ours yet so not sure if we'll pay for extra.
Your daughter can always go for 100 pics for her pro album and make a photobook from Kodak, Shutterfly, Blurb, Picaboo, MyPublisher, etc. with ALLLL the pictures she wants - and it won't cost an arm and a leg either.

It's hard, we had the same problem and had to narrow it done to 100. I just started by eliminating some similar pictures and some plain pictures - such has a picture of just the flowers, or of just the unity candle. Things like that.

The more I think of it , the more upset I become because 50 pics are just not enough.
We are working on collecting all of the pics that we love whether they are professional pics or pics from friends & family & making out own second album from shutterly.
I know how your daughter feels! We get 120 pictures in our album, and we are having a lot of trouble narrowing things down.

we only have 40 pic in ours. But we have all our proofs and they dont have the photographers name on the anywhere so we can use them too.

We actually just did this last night. We get 80 pictures in our albums and picked 80 pictures. It really wasn't that bad because there are so many shots that were similar.

i had a very hard time narrowing down my pics. What I ended up doing was dividing the ones I liked into piles according to different parts of the day ( first dance, cake cutting, family portraits, etc.) then I tried to keep narrowing them down from there, cutting out any that looked very similar. HTH!

I have something similiar. My package came with 18 8x10 and 2 8x10 portraits but I also have the proof book which I can duplicate

Wow, you're all going to hate me.
I got my pics delivered digitally and made my own album with over 200 shots. We gave our parents the exact same album in a smaller size, but my mom wants one of the big ones, so I'm ordering a second one for her.

We got it down to 80.... from 200+ I never thought it would happen - but truly did not want to spend TOO much more money.
Best advice I can give - each time they go through them - elimate MORE.
AND try to keep this in mind - You don't need repetative pictures - or each couple of the bridal party walking down the aisle, out of the ceremony and in to the reception.... etc.

Have her do the oens she loves the most; like one major shot that sums up each part of the day, then do ehr own album as Yesi said. I did that and it worked out sooo much better.

our contract stated 60 but we added to make about 95. it was very hard narrowing it down... but i narrowed as much as i could..we have all our proofs in 2 albums too so we can look at all of them as well.
