How Many Proofs Did You Get?

DH & I are curious what other couples received.

We had 1 photographer, and received.583 proofs.

This is every picture that was taken that day, there are no others

800 printed proofs
3200 total pics on discs

I had one photographer for 10 hours and one for 8.......in total, 1200+ pics

I had 2 photogs and they took around 1800 together. Do you love enough to make an album? That is really all you need. You can only pick 100, so it doesn't matter if you have to choose from 500 or 1000.

Do we get to see some?

2 photographers 2,600 pictures.

Are you sure that is all they took that day and you didn't just get the 'good shots'? A lot of photographers filter the pictures first???

That's the thing, I don't know if I love enough to make an album.

We need 75ish for the album, and you are all right -- having more proofs doesn't necessarily mean there are going to be more good pics.

None of the pics we received are blurry or dark, they're all 'technically usable' I guess, I just don't love them all and was hoping to have the feeling of 'How am I ever going to narrow it down to only 75 pics'. Instead I am wondering 'How am I going to find 75 pics to use for the album?'

I only have the hard copies right now, but hopefully will have a disk with digital versions in a week or so. I promise to post them when I do ...

More proofs definitely does not mean more pics to choose from! The first time I ran through our proofs I missed a LOT! Go through them a little at a time. Also what I did was to start separating the pics into groups - so I did a pile for 'getting ready', 'ceremony', 'fun reception pics', 'formals', pics of DH and me alone, pics of just me or just DH, and a 'details' pics pile. Sounds like a lot, but it made it easier to look through them and see just how many from each pile I really loved or didn't etc. So maybe you can try that and see how many you really love? I really think you'll find way more than 75 that you love.

And the other thing I wanted to say was this - we are always our own worst critics. I got soooo many proofs, posted 350 of them in my album and got a lot of nice comments/compliments on them. I love them - but I STILL think that there are other brides who have better pics, gorgeous pics that make me go WOW - does that make sense? I mean, I'm not knocking my pics, it's just, well sometimes we are more critical than we should be. So please post some of your pics and I PROMISE I'll be super honest! I'm always honest, but I'll be brutally honest!

our photographer edited the pics a bit before giving us proofs. he gave us over 1k.... too many to count

I'd say that about 800 of them were album-worthy... but usually there were 2-4 pics in a series that were almost identical..... so still 300+ different album worthy pics

I'm sorry Jess...I thought everything you posted looked great!

We have 1260 proofs (2 photographers)-loved them to the point of overwhelmed!

How about a day after shoot if you are unhappy?

2 photographers, 2700 photos, 400 proofs.
In the same boat as you though, not thrilled.
