I don't think 3 is a big deal at all...I think 2-3 are normal. go for it!

Re: How Many Registries?
Why not register at 3 places, you can do whatever you want, its your wedding!!!!
Or mabye have somone close to you know that you really want a couple of things in Khol's and they can purchase them for you

Re: How Many Registries?
I've gone to wedding where they had 3 registries. The ones you're choosing also give your guests alt of different price ranges so they can shop where they feel comfortable.

I have an old school Italian family and I feel like its going to be an issue! Ahh!!
it probably will. If I were you I would stick to two places at most. Thats what I did....just didn't want to hear it.... My sister wants more than 2 and she is getting crap about it. Thats just how old school people are.
I say do what you need to do and want to do!!!

Re: How Many Registries?
I think it's fine. You say that you have two main registries and the third contains just a few items you can't find elsewhere.
I'd only look askance at 3+ registries if each one had a gazillion items, there was no range in prices, and there was repetition in the type of items requested.
ETA--clarification.

Re: How Many Registries?
i think its fine, i have 3 registries and every shower invite i received had 3 registries. Its better because you have to remember that some stores are not near everybody. So this makes it easier on people

Re: How Many Registries?
We are technically registered at 4 places (Fortunoff, BBB, Crate & Barrel, Macy's) although we took everything off of Fortunoff and moved it to BBB or Macy's about a week after opening it.
Most of our china, kitchen type stuff and appliances are BBB, our glassware and table decor is from C&B and Macy's has some overflow (only a few items like bedding and some pieces from our china set that BBB didn't carry).
I think it's easier for guests to have more options.

I'm registered at 3. Macys, BB&B and Crate & Barrel. I think in the past few years, all of the showers I've been to have included 3 registries....def. at least 2. It's not in poor taste at all.
Same ones I did! Go for it!

Re: How Many Registries?
I registered at 4 but all with reason, I love WS cooking stuff and everyone in my fam knows I love to cook so I kinda have an excuse. And I did one high end for china and crystal stemware and silverware. Than I did BBB for everyday stuff, affordable electrics ect. Also I did a furniture store, mostly just for the gift cards and the 10% discount I'll get in their 'completion' plan. Honestly I think at least 3 is really good, b/c I've been to showers where there were stores that were not convenient for me to get to OR the amount I was planning to spend there was nothing left at two of the stores but at least you got that third place, you're bound to, I think you're actually doing your family a favor by having 3.

Re: How Many Registries?
i'm registered at 3 places. i felt bad about it at first but after talking to friends/family it seemed a lot of people appreciated it.
i also got a lot of one of the registries as holiday gifts b/c it was a specialty registry with seasonal items.

Re: How Many Registries?
Don't feel bad. I am just as fragmented as you. I got BBB, Macy's & WIlliam Sonoma. I had to stop myself from adding others. Because there is no on store that carries eveyrthing i LIke.
They only thing I got on BBB is a Wilton Armetale server set that I am obsessed with having. If not for that I probably would have gone for yet another place to hunt that down..

Re: How Many Registries?
i am registered at only BBB. but i find nothing wrong with registering at 3.. My 'old school italian mother' had a look of horror when i told her i was registering... can you imagine her face if i told her 2 or 3
i agree with the other girl that just changed the subject. start talking about ravioli or pasta they will quickly forget what you were talking about

Re: How Many Registries?
Don't be worried. We actually got yelled at by everyone for only being registered in one place. People want a variety of places to shop at. We ended up doing BBB and Fortunoff-which we are now happy we did. But you should have as many registries as you want. No worries!!!!

Re: How Many Registries?
I honestly don't find that to big a big issue for three registries. I only had two but If I really wanted something particular somewhere else I would of done the same thing.

If you have your heart set on something that is 'sellectively' carried than why not! It would not bother me if I were purchasing for your shower.
