How many things do you have done for your wedding?

Hi ladies! I was just wondering how many things you have done for your wedding?

I am getting married in May and I feel like I haven't really done much. All I have done is put the deposit for our venue down, order save the dates (mailing them next week ), and order little things of easy (that I just needed now of course haha). We have a tasting with the caterer on Wednesday, and are meeting with two different photo and video people.

I haven't even looked at dresses or hair/makeup either. Should I be worried? Am I behind schedule?

I am getting married in November and so far we just booked our venue. I'm slowly looking into photographers and dj's, but I fee like I still have plenty of time.

How many things do you have done for your wedding?

We booked our venue and all our vendors. Dress and bridesmaids dresses all taken care of. This weekend (fingers crossed) I should be wrapping up the finishing touches with our invitations. Now I am ordering the extras for the wedding, card box, flutes (ordered today) and the list keeps going. Lol

I'm getting married the week after you and i have only booked the Venue, Church, Photographer, and DJ. Hopefully doing the flowers next week, and i tried on dresses, and hopefully going to order one soon! Just keep doing research and writing down vendors you like and get in contact with them- everything will come together in no time!

what kind of card box are you getting? I just ordered mine from etsy yesterday! haha of course, the cake topper and card box were so important that i needed them now.

oh yes i got the church too! i forgot about that... do you think you found the dress you want? I wasn't going to look until September/October... do you think that is too late? I want a dress with 3/4 sleeves and figured my best bet would to look during the fall.

We have the venue, church, flowers, band, cocktail hour music, my dress and started looking into makeup. I sent out the save the dates as well. Oh and we also have our place card holders picked out (well FH is actually making them). For the rest of it I have been slacking :/

depends on the designer.. you never know how long the dress takes to come in.. one of the dresses I'm thinking of can take 9 months to come in, so I would need to order it like tomorrow!! lol

I have booked the venue, got my dress, and asked an employee at my work place to DJ. We should have a photographer this weekend; we just have to talk to a family friend of ours to see what she is charging

I'm the same weekend as you. We have our venue, photographer, videographer, and my dress. This week we finally met with the church and DJ so we just have to send our deposit to the DJ. I don't think you're far behind, but I would get on photographer and dress ASAP. I was told 8-12 months for dresses. We are taking engagement pics today and sending STDs out as soon as we get them back. Oh, and we also have the hotel block done.

So far we booked the venue, band, photographer, videographer and florist. I have an appointment in Sept to meet with the florist to pick exactly what I want and talk over color schemes. I am aiming to get my dress and the bridesmaids dresses by October. I am shopping for dresses for the first time next weekend (so excited!!). I've been bookmarking a lot of stuff on etsy or pinning stuff to buy (cake toppers, presents for bridesmaids, etc.) but I'm nowhere close to getting any of those things. I think you sound fine. You really don't need anywhere close to a year to plan these things, so you can certainly do it quicker.

we are getting married in May also and we have literally done everything lol...flowers is the last but I already know the vendor and what I want.We even ordered the invites...lol..BUT my daughters sweet 16 party is in January so I did everything side by side(all different vendors though) because otherwise I wouldn't have been able to do both. But If I wasn't doing two parties I may not have done everything so fast.Even the Channa (sp?) plaque is done and card box picked out(ETSY) just not ordered yet.

I'm sure every bridal shop is different but just to give you an idea... I ordered my dress in April and should get it in August (and then still have to do alternations). So I would recommend ordering it at least 6 months out, but definitely check with each shop you go to.

I had a little trouble booking hair & make up since my wedding is a Sunday + holiday weekend (like yours!). I wanted to go to the salon I regularly use but they are normally closed Sundays and would charge double. I decided to go with a different salon who was reasonably priced & will come to my house.

I just sent out my Save the Dates too so I think you’ll be right on schedule! :)

I booked a few things pretty early mostly because I knew what I wanted and was worried about vendors being booked. I just have work on BM dresses, invitations and some DIY favors & decorations.

I ordered a card box from Country Barn Babe on Etsy. Since we are having a winter wedding I bought the white distressed wood box. I also ordered a ring bearer box from her as well. FH and I have been going over a couple of the cake toppers we have seen on Etsy and have narrowed it down to two. lol Decisions, decisions.

We have venue, church, photo, video and dj booked. We also already did pre Cana... You still have time but if you have your heart set on a vendor I would look into them sooner rather than later.

I'm the end of May as well, FH and I have been engaged over a year and a half already so we've booked venue, officiant, DJ, florist, photo, video, hotel block, honeymoon, and I got my dress Memorial Day weekend.
Save the Date postcards just came in the mail, which are hopefully going out at the end of July!

FH wanted to get stuff done early so we could pay it off, since we're doing everything ourselves.

I'm the same day as u and I feel the same way. Sometimes seeinghow much other people have already done freaks me out and I think I'm behind. I have the venue booked for ceremony and reception amd our photographer. Im hoping to book a dj within the next few weeks. I have been looking at dresses but didnt pickone yet. I would say u probably shouldnt wait til september for the dress I have heard some designers can take up to a year. Maybe if u call around, especially the bigger places they will have some with sleeves for u. Good luck
