If I want my final count to end up around 125- how many guests do I invite.

I dont think theres a real formula for how many people you'll get if you invite X-amount. Everyone that gets an invitation might say YES!!
You might want to make an A list & a B list. Send out 130 invitations and see what comes back..then mail out a few more each time someone says no.

I have been told that you will lose 20% of the grand total of who you invite. I'm inviting 125 and expect to see between 85 & 90 people!

It's so hard to predict how many people will say yes. I know of weddings where only a couple of people said no, for me it's about 50% no. You'd probably be safe inviting around 150 if you want to end up with 125.

well we wanted 225 and invited about 260(including our b-list invites that we sent out). we ended up at EXACTLY 225. usually the standard is that u get around 30 no's...we swore we couldn't think of ANYONE that couldn't come but there's always some who cant! (but then again u never know - my friend only had 3 no's which is crazy!!!) lol well ANYWAYS, i'd go between 25-30 invites over what u're gauranteeing. my cousin sent our EXACTLY her gaurantee amount, and sent out b-list invitations as her no's came in, and ended up falling way under and had to pay for a lot of empty spots!

We want about 125-150 and we're inviting 200 and no more or less than that- if we get 175 that's going to be okay for us too as we don't want to leave certain people out altogether.

I would say around 150-165 Should be good if you want around 125.

You always run a risk and can never tell, but they 20% is the avg. So if you invite 150 you could get 125.
